About the adventure

A string of brutal killings has shaken the quiet frontier village of Blackthorn Hollow. Livestock has been slaughtered, hunters have vanished in the surrounding woods, and several villagers swear they saw a towering wolf-like creature beneath the full moon. With fear spreading and trade grinding to a halt, the local lord has issued a bounty and hired a group of capable adventurers to track down and eliminate the monster responsible.

Character creation

Creating your character

If you have characters already made, I will go over them. If not, we will take the first approximate 30 minutes or so to make characters for the game.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

If not already, sign up for DNDbeyond and Roll20, I will share links to the campaign for both platforms once everything is settled.

What James brings to the table

The game will primarily follow Rules as Written (RAW) to keep gameplay consistent and fair, but the Rule of Cool will be embraced when players attempt creative or cinematic actions that enhance the story. The goal is to maintain a balance between structure and flexibility so that players feel rewarded for clever ideas while still operating within a clear rules framework. Overall, players can expect a cooperative, story-focused experience where investigation, atmosphere, and strategic encounters come together to create a memorable monster hunt. I will also bring some ambient music and sound effects.

Homebrew rules

Drinking a potion as a bonus action, Death is permanent, unless revived using the appropriate spells.
