Where Angels Rest - Cyberpunk RED
You are not Heroes, you are not chosen, you are the grit. You are the flame. Night City doesn’t care about you. But it will remember what you burn.

About the adventure
Night City is a machine that eats people. Grinding them down into labor, debt, and chrome. Making sure that the people keep their heads down. Corps own the skyline, gangs own the streets, and somewhere in between are people like you. You are still fed to the machine, but you are not quiet. You do not keep your head down. You are an Edgerunner, and you will carve out your own pound of flesh from this machine to quell the rage that has been carved into your very bones, with surgical steel and neural connections. More than an edgerunner, you are part of a community defense group. You don't just have some chrome and a fine-looking armorjack, you've got a job to do. A job that matters. The neighborhood watch has grown teeth, namely, you. What started out as looking out for each other has become something more organized. The neighborhood of Havens Rest has pushed back against private security contracts, pushed back against being controlled, and refused to pay for the privilege of having a boot on their neck. Now that I've got all that out of the way, I get to talk plain! This campaign is focused heavily on survival on the streets and base building. Cyberpunk Red is pretty brutal, and we are going to be dealing with some heavy subjects.

About me
My name is Jesse, and by all the Gods and Devils, I swear an oath to run a sweet game for you. I have been running tabletop games for over a decade as a professional game master. Some of my favorites include Cyberpunk (Red and 2020), D&D (Honestly, 3.5 is pretty good, but 5e is a juggernaut), Kids on Brooms, Lancer, CAIN, S...shadowrun. I guess. Listen I love Shadowrun, in theory. All that aside, I love telling stories, I have authored a few books, I love to do improv and often join community theater groups for productions when I can! I am a dramatic dork, but beyond being a drama nerd, I work with underserved folk to get them into better situations and safer environments. All of this is to say that when I run my games, I work hard to make sure that the game that we share, that the story that we tell together, is one that we can enjoy and love. That we can tell to other people with shimmer in our eyes. I will always strive to provide a safe space for you and the other players at the table, even if that means that we have to part ways with another player, or even myself! I am LGBTQTIA+ friendly, Black/POC friendly, Indigenous friendly and Anti-Bigot. You are welcome and safe here, and I will make sure of it when I can. Your safety, your fun, and your time are my top priorities, and I am so excited and hopeful to see what kind of stories we can tell together!
View Profile →Character creation
Creating your character
We will run a session 0 to do character creation, and players will have the choice of running the Streetrat, Edgerunner, or Complete Package options to make their character. We will be starting with pretty base characters and eddies, though players can ask for some extra kit and gear!
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Having a Discord account will be paramount! Other than that, having access to a computer is ideal, as we will be running on Foundry VTT.
What Jesse Duvall brings to the table
We will be using Syrinscape for ambient/immersive audio and music! I do a lot of voices and even utilize a voice changer for certain bits and characters. Personally, I am not a restrictive GM, and I embrace the Rule of "Make it Make Sense," which is an offshoot of the rule of cool. If you can convince the rest of the players and me that something makes sense, I am very likely to let it work. We are telling a story together, after all, and narrative expectations should be honored! I am also, to my own great horror, a GM who levies out consequences. If you want to play a character in this game that is a Clown or something along those lines, we are going to have to include the Bozo's and ask why you are or aren't a part of the gang of murder clowns in Night City. Weird goth kid who has Vampire Fangs? Why aren't you in the gang of other weird goth kids with a vampire kick? The questions roll out, and I gotta know the answer! And with the answers, consequences, and narrative engine can be introduced.
Homebrew rules
Unsure about any homebrew rules for Cyberpunk Red! As a group we will likely introduce some and honor them as we go along.

Safety
How Jesse Duvall creates a safe table
Before the campaign begins, we will have a dedicated Session 0 where we establish Lines & Veils (hard limits and fade-to-black topics), align on tone, expectations, and comfort levels. We will also discuss character concepts and boundaries! I will also introduce all safety tools and how to use them, as we have some built into foundry that we can use! Lastly, and most importantly, I provide a Lines & Veils form that players can fill out privately.
