About the adventure
The spectral whistle of the Ghostlight Express pierces the veil of the mundane, whisking you away to Druskenvald—a sun-starved vale where the moon hangs crooked and Halloween is a permanent state of being. Here, folk horror isn't just a theme; it’s a living, breathing reality where superstitions possess the power to manifest as lethal nightmares. You and your fellow wayward souls must navigate a landscape of twisted pumpkin patches, crumbling hamlets, and fog-shrouded forests where every shadow hides an ancient secret. In this campaign, survival requires more than just steel and spells. You will grapple with the eerie Fateweaving system, a mechanic that ties your character's past to the whims of the Weavers, ensuring that every choice carries the weight of destiny. As you traverse the vale, you’ll encounter playable species like the wood-bound Harvestborn and subclasses steeped in occult mystery. As well, the campaign will blend character‑driven storytelling with tactical combat, emphasizing meaningful choices and consequences. Homebrew additions might be added to provide immersive play for your characters and the lands you explore. Therefore, as a player if you enjoy folk horror fantasy and exploring a sandbox area to survive in. Whether you are bargaining for your soul or hunting monsters in the dark, every session promises a blend of whimsical macabre and genuine dread.

About me
Hi there! The name is Mike or Michael. I have been playing tabletop games as a player and DM for about over 15 years. I started back in college when I first played D&D 3.5 edition and had a blast playing a fighter battling prehistoric crocodiles! Since then I have played numerous game systems and to name a few would be D&D 5th Edition, World of Darkness games, Unisystem games, and Pathfinder editions. As a GM, I enjoy running games for players that enjoy a blend of using game rules and exploring character ideas through roleplaying. I enjoy storytelling that focuses on the characters and may it be a module or homebrew adventure. I like to connect my players with the world, so they may enjoy the world as much as their characters. Every game I run I want my players to have a blast in what they do regardless if its a serious roleplay scene or a fast paced action one. At last, I am definitely a fan of horror and supernatural, so you might see bits of this in my games. I hope to get to play with you and roll some dice at my table!

What to expect
Preparing for the session
You will need a D&D Beyond account, a Roll20 account, and a Discord Account. A decent mic, headset, and computer are also required. Once you have all this then you are ready to go.
What Señor Mike brings to the table
I will bring to the table a collection of books on D&D Beyond which gives the players in my campaigns access to all of that content. Roll20 will be our tabletop engine where I will provide maps, artwork, and ambient music. As well, immersive dynamic lighting and effects for tactical combat when it occurs.
Homebrew rules
Flanking - Flanking confers a +2 bonus to attack rolls instead of advantage Critical Hits - We will be using the Perkins Crit rule, instead of doubling damage dice, you add the maximum possible value of the damage dice to the normal rolled damage, plus modifiers. Death Saves - When a PC hits 0 HP, they can choose the following option below instead of the normal 5e rule: "Blaze of Glory": Take one last action (auto-crit on an attack, maximize a spell effect, etc.), then your character is truly dead. "Risk It All": Roll 2d20 (representing Hope/Fear), use a Daggerheart-style result (Hope = stabilize with benefits, Fear = death). "Avoid Death": Fall unconscious, but instead of 3 death saves, apply a severe permanent scar or a narrative penalty.
