About the adventure

Your party of surviving adventurers work to oust Vecna from his throne in Waterdeep. Travel across what remains of the Sword Coast, after every adventure published in 5e went wrong, in an attempt to free Toril from the Maimed Lord Vecna's control. Faerûn has changed dramatically in the years since Vecna’s conquest. Tiamat holds court over the dragons of the Realms from atop her Soaring Citadel. Zariel wages war over the cratered ruin that was once Baldur’s Gate. The drow elf Jarlaxle, one of the last hopes for a dying realm, rules over the sailing city of Qu’madosfan Delmah. And the Frostmaiden Auril’s arctic grasp expands ever outwards.

About me

My name is Josiah, but I usually go by Brick online. I'm 29 years old, and I've been playing and running D&D 5e games for almost 8 years now. Online shows and podcasts brought me into the realm, and these productions have encouraged me to explore the medium of running tabletop RPGs online.

Homebrew rules

• Healing Potions as a Bonus Action Healing potions heal for maximum amount as an action, and for the normal dice roll as a bonus action. Feeding a potion to someone takes an action and uses the normal dice roll. • Doom Points Boss monsters and certain high-tier monsters lose Legendary Resistances and instead gain Doom Points, borrowed from Tales of the Valiant. These can be used to give the monster advantage on certain rolls, impose disadvantage on saving throws for the players, or otherwise enhance a monter's danger to the party. • Monster Harvesting Monsters can be harvested with a variable DC, a skill proficiency determined by monster type, and a combined dexterity and intelligence check. These materials can then be sold or used to craft mundane and magic items over downtime, with proper tool proficiencies and item recipies. • No Silvery Barbs There are other spells such as Embrace Destiny in the Ultimate Adventurer's Handbook and Intrusive Thought in Valda's Spire of Secrets that can affect enemies in similar ways. • Class Adjustments ○ Artificer: Soft ban, see new Craftsman class if you want to craft weapons and armor. ○ Barbarian: Tasha's reworks applied, soft band on Totem Warrior ○ Bard: Tasha's reworks applied, soft band on College of Eloquence ○ Cleric: New class features as shown in the Hero's Handbook (Clerical Principle at 2nd level, Sacred Ritual at 5th level, Divine Missionary at 10th level), Peace and Twilight domains are banned. ○ Druid: Soft ban, Wild Shape templates will need to be custom-built ahead of time. ○ Fighter: New class features as shown in the Hero's Handbook (Additional Fighting Styles, Additional Fighting Style at 5th level, Advanced Fighting Style at 20th level) ○ Monk: Soft ban, see new Pugilist class if you want unarmed fighting ○ Paladin: New class features as shown in the Hero's Handbook (Fighting Style Options, Oathbound Charger at 5th level, Divine Purpose at 20th level) ○ Ranger: Tasha's reworks applied ○ Rogue: New class features as shown in the Hero's Handbook (Settling the Score at 3rd level, Surestrike at 5th level, Preparation at 20th level) ○ Sorcerer: New class features as shown in the Hero's handbook (Eschew Materials at 1st level, Trace Magic at 2nd level, New Metamagic options at 3rd level, Expert Sorcery at 6th, 10th, and 17th levels.) ○ Warlock: New Pact Boons and Invocations (from the Hero's Handbook, the Ultimate Adventurer's Handbook, and Valda's Spire of Secrets) ○ Wizard: Unchanged
