About the adventure

When a mysterious city rises from the ocean overnight, the world is captivated—and terrified. Glittering spires pierce the sky, strange gemstones hum with magical energy, and the sea itself seems alive, bending and thrashing in response to the city’s presence. Those who enter rarely return, and the mysteries of the drowned streets beg to be uncovered. As adventurers, you are invited to explore this sentient metropolis, a place where ancient secrets, political intrigue, and the echoes of a long-lost civilization wait around every corner. Here, every conversation can shift alliances, every choice reshapes the city’s perception of the surface world, and every interaction carries weight. In this campaign, combat is only part of the story. Negotiation with sentient buildings, uncovering hidden histories, and navigating morally complex dilemmas are just as important as swordplay or spellcasting. Whether you prefer diplomacy, cunning, exploration, or simply weaving your character’s story into the world, the city responds to your actions—shaping both your journey and the fate of the surface and the deep. Themes: Mystery, exploration, diplomacy, moral choices, world-building. Player Focus: Roleplay-heavy, story-driven, meaningful interactions over combat.

About me

Hey there! I’m Theo, but most folks call me Toadling. I’m a storyteller at heart, a lover of immersive worlds, and your guide to unforgettable adventures. I specialize in Dungeons & Dragons (5e) and narrative-driven tabletop RPGs where every choice matters and every character has a story. I love creating worlds that feel alive—filled with memorable NPCs, morally grey dilemmas, and a healthy dose of mystery, magic, and mischief. Whether you’re here to roleplay a brave hero, a clever trickster, or someone in between, I make sure everyone at the table feels seen, heard, and empowered to make their mark. I’m known for keeping sessions fun, inclusive, and full of surprises. Expect rich descriptions, immersive storytelling, and plenty of opportunities to lean into your character’s quirks and secrets. I also enjoy helping new players learn the ropes, so don’t worry if you’re just starting out! Let’s roll the dice, craft some stories, and explore worlds you’ll never forget.

Character creation

Creating your character

Character creation is completed in session 0, players can create characters in any software they wish, with Aurora being the one i recommend. Players will start at level 3. Any source material is fine, if it's homebrew I must first approve it.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

You will need a Discord and an Alchemy rpg account for the VTT. You will have to join a discord server that I will provide the link to.

What Theo "Toadling" brings to the table

I love using ambient music and trying (keyword trying) to do voices. The Rule of Cool is the defining rule of my table. If you can convince me that I should let you do something then you can do it.

Homebrew rules

Drinking a potion is a bonus action, if you do damage that a creature is vulnerable to I'll let you do max damage. Death saves are more difficult the more turns you have that you're down.

Safety

How Theo "Toadling" creates a safe table

In session zero the Monte Cook RPG Consent Checklist will be provided to each player to fill out, Lines and Veils will be gone over. After sessions we will have a short chat about Stars and Wishes, things players liked, what they didn't like, what they want more of, what they want less of.
