About the adventure
This open-world campaign starts small, in a town called Balding Hill that has become your home. Your characters will have ample time to learn about the world and their role in it before fate brings them to achieve their goals, explore the rest of the region and find out the truth behind the events that sent it into disarray. Join, destroy, subjugate or create the main factions to achieve YOUR goals!⭐️ 📝Impactful roleplaying nurturing meaningful in-game relationships, every choice matters!📝 🩸Explore the grim side of the Forgotten Realms history and setting🩸 ⚙️Here are the things that you can expect from playing this campaign together with me as a DM⚙️ 📜 ∎ More than 200 unique maps were drawn to create this campaign's locations and landscapes. All these maps are not standalone as you may have used to see in other campaigns, but parts of one huge canvas that are connected with smooth transitions to make things optimized 👤 ∎ Each NPC has it's own motivation, backstory and portrait 🌄 ∎ I am a beginner artist, thus you can expect me to draw several pictures that represent the most memorable moments from our sessions. On top of that, after several sessions I will create a custom portrait for your character 🦖∎ The majority of enemy tokens are animated. Over the years I've supported numerous professional artists that create them and managed to gather quite a decent collection 🎻 ∎ Hours of carefully selected fantasy music will accompany your journey 📚 ∎ Players will have access to most of 5e official content for their character creation needs 4️⃣ ∎ I speak 4 languages and I see them as a tool for our games. Nevertheless these directions are well thought, hundreds of hours went into designing characters, loot pools, locations and their corresponding maps. You are here not to play someone else's story, but to create your own in this well written world 🔮 ∎ Several unique homebrew systems that were designed as an alternative to vanilla 5e Learning and Crafting systems. Their purpose is to compensate for the lack of downtime in campaigns where every day counts. They are quite engaging and were highly approved by my players in the past 🏹 ∎ I tend to keep games at 65/35 rate, where 65 is combat and exploring, and 35 is pure roleplay. Players can always stay a little longer in a tavern or initiate a smalltalk during a shortrest, which would change the proportion to their liking 🧙 ∎ I have more than 4000 of experience in various tabletop RPGs such as D&D, Pathfinder, Call of Cthulhu, Blades in The Darkness

Creating your character
Make a 1st-level player character (PC) by either Standard Array (15, 14, 13, 12, 10, 8) or 27 Point Buy. ◆ I will be glad to help you with character creation and answer any questions on the matter. ◆ This campaign was designed so that a group of adventurers will get to levels 14-15 by the end of it ◆ Due to the specifics of this campaign characters start without any items. ◆ Encumbrance rules are used. ◆ Feats and multiclassing are allowed.

How Adventuring creates a safe table
*Synopsis* 1498 DR Year of the Black Regalia Rampaging plague has struck the Jewel of the North, a fine city of Neverwinter. Staying ahead of the curve, Lord's Alliance has decreed that the city must be isolated from the outer world. Nobody is allowed to leave or enter the city without a special permission. Even most talented clerics and shamans of the lands turned out helpless against the malady, barely avoiding contracting the disease themselves. It wasn't just commerce that came to a standstill, but military patrols as well, thus giving the criminal folk of the Luskan a cart blanche on all kinds of war crimes on the roads. Entrepreneurs of all kinds in the adjacent cities have stepped up their efforts to ride the tide of opportunity that was created by this catastrophy, while commoners slowly turn from quiet paranoia to open lynching of Neverwintians, claiming them to be the bearers of an unknown curse that will bring the plague upon their own town. Things don't look quite peaceful in the North either. With an ongoing trading war between cities of Mirabar and Mithral Hall, the growing threat of rat folk has gotten out of control. A mysterious figure has united usually erratic and hectic creatures under a rigorous and effective leadership. Whole sections of tunnels were flooded with the rat folk, and there have been disturbing rumors that they've started snatching wandering merchants off the surface into their putrid holes. Notorious Harpel family from Longsaddle has been hard at work to find the cure as well, but people from coming caravans speak of a massive fiasco they encountered during their experiments. They might've outdone themselves this time. Considering reputation of that family, the whole of Longsaddle probably doesn't have much time left. Balding Hill, a thriving colony that has became your home after a year since you settling down. Except for declining number of visitors and rising prices, it mostly remains unaffected by the chaos of the plague. Balding Hill has a high chance of becoming a true safe haven for all who wish to escape the bustling cities and settle down for a good, peaceful life.
