About the adventure

This is not my campaign. It's yours. I'm Pieter — a Dungeon Master with over 20 years of experience — and I run a different kind of table. Instead of guiding you through a story I've already written, I build a living, breathing world and hand you the keys. Where you go, what you do, who you become — that's entirely up to you. We play D&D 5e, starting at level 1, so you grow into your character alongside the world itself. Sessions run 3 hours, bi-weekly, giving you just enough time to get immersed without burning out. Never played before? Perfect. This table is built with newcomers in mind. I'll walk you through every rule, every roll, and every dramatic moment with patience and zero judgment. Experienced players are equally welcome — veterans will find a DM who knows when to get out of the way and let the story breathe. Expect cinematic atmosphere, meaningful combat, rich roleplay, and a DM who watches every player at the table to make sure everyone is having the time of their life. Think less "theme park ride," more "collaborative novel you help write in real time."

About me

My name is Pieter, and I've been living and breathing tabletop RPGs for over 20 years — from cramped kitchen tables to virtual tabletops with players across the globe. The moment I picked up the DM screen, I knew I'd found my calling. I'm an empath first, Dungeon Master second. That means I read the table, make sure every voice is heard, and create a space where you tell the story — I just build the world around it. Whether you've never rolled a d20 in your life or you're a seasoned veteran, you'll find a seat at my table. Paired with a deep, resonant narrative voice and a love for gritty atmosphere, I craft sessions that pull you in and don't let go. Expect dark corners, meaningful choices, and moments you'll still be talking about weeks later. Newcomers are especially welcome. I'll guide you through every rule, every roll, every dramatic pause — no experience needed, just curiosity and a willingness to play.

Character creation

Creating your character

We'll build your character together in Session 0, before the campaign begins — no experience needed. I'll guide you through every choice using the Player's Handbook and any officially published D&D 5e sourcebooks. Stats are rolled using the standard array to keep things balanced. Don't worry about building the "perfect" character. Build one you find interesting. Bring a name, a vague personality idea, or even just a feeling — we'll shape the rest together. Starting level: 1

Safety

How Pieter creates a safe table

Player safety and comfort are not afterthoughts — they're built into how I run every session. In Session 0 we'll go through Lines & Veils together as a group, establishing what content is off the table entirely and what needs to be handled carefully. X, N & O cards are available throughout every session — use them without explanation, no questions asked. This game contains mature themes comparable to a solid dramatic film — moral complexity, tension, consequence, and darkness that serves the story. Nothing gratuitous. After significant sessions I offer a brief debrief and stars & wishes so every player can be heard.
