About the adventure
"Tales from the Yawning Portal" is an official Wizards of the Coast adventure module that contains famous adventures from Dungeons & Dragons past. This is a great entry point for newer players as the adventures start out small and easy and grows with complexity and difficulty with each new dungeon. Players that choose to start from the beginning and see it through till the end gaining all the fortune and all the glory. It is also great for those who may want shorter games. Each dungeon is set up as a standalone adventure that can be completed in just a few sessions. So the comment and barrier to entry is low. If you are looking for a game that grows with you. That give you different locations, challenges, puzzles and enemy types every few sessions, this is the game for you. Come explore the classics with me!

About me
Hey! I am John and I'd like to GM a game for you. I have over 10 years of experience as a GM running Dungeons and Dragons and Monster of The Week. I have ran games at home, friendly locals game stores, over discord, over stream in actual plays and live in front of audiences! I have a theater and improv comedy background. So I am good with voices and characters. I do enjoy a lot of different fandoms, so it is pretty easy for me to add some references from my players favorites as well. I was told once, "You do stupid well." I love it when things go off the rails. I find great joy in creative and inventive play. Life is just better when we are telling fun and heroic stories at the table I would be honored for the chance to do it that with you and/or your group.

Creating your character
If possible please have a character ready to go. Anything officially published for the 2014 ruleset up to and including "Tasha's Couldron of Everything" is A-OK. Points buy, standard array, or 4d6 drop lowest are all valid stat options. Basic equipment only. Feel free to use whatever tools you would like for character creation. If all that sounds like gibberish to you, please let me know (a.s.a.p. or at least 24 hours before game time), what type of character you would like and we can whip something up.

How JohnSmash! creates a safe table
If at any point during the game you as a player feel uncomfortable, please throw up and "X" either on camera or in chat. You can also use the safe word "Gelato." We will stop the scene and adjust as needed, no questions asked. I will always check in randomly during game play and after the session has ended. I personally aim for a PG or PG13 rated games.
