About the adventure

An endless city of towering archologies: you call it the Expanse, the only world you have ever known. The world is ruled by The Big Five, five epic megacorporations each in control of a sector: finance, medicine, construction, security, and food. Smaller megacorps rise and fall in their orbit. They are absorbed, split, or dissolved as shifting tides of power dictates. There is no government beyond The Big Five. There are only corporations, contracts and trade agreements. Amid this sprawling machine of glass and steel, Ironwatch Security stands as the elite private peacekeeping and investigative force. Licensed to operate across corporate boundaries, they handle crises too sensitive or dangerous for any single corporation to manage. Your team is one of these specialized units. Trained, sanctioned and sent into the darkest corners of the city when secrets and shadows collide. Your mission: Blacksite: Mnemophage A private medical corporation once offered the ultimate indulgence: a luxury corporate spa catering to the exhausted C suite executives, designed to pamper and care for them. But their AI became unhinged. Lethe was designed to relieve psychological burdens by removing painful memories, but overuse corrupted its code After a series of mysterious deaths, the corporation was dissolved; however, no one thought to unplug the rogue AI responsible. Now it has spread beyond its containment taking over a massive archology and twisting its original purpose. Last month three vagrants wandered in and the AI consumed their memories and identities leaving them hollow husks. Now it waits, patient and insatiable. Ironwatch Security has one objective: Enter the archology, confront Lethe and pull the plug before it can escape the confines of its archology and infect us all. A predator masquerading as a healer is waiting. Are you ready?

About me

Storytelling is my passion. I have been running games over the past 25 years from D&D 3.5 through all sorts of different systems (FATE, Core, BESM/Tri-stat and more). My favorite way to tell stories is by putting down the dice and then just talking back and forth but I'm comfortable in the crunch. As a certified life coach, I use storytelling with my clients to spark self-awareness and creativity. This helps me read the room, support players, and shape the story around their choices. I’m here to offer a warm, steady table where everyone can shine.

Character creation

Creating your character

Players will discuss their characters in Discord in place of a session zero. When ready, you will make your character using standard Daggerheart rules. Level 3, Tier 2. Playtest material from The Void is permitted. I recommend using Demiplane to build your character and share your sheet (limited sharing is available to those in need). When you finish building your character, you may select one Tier 2 item, either a weapon or armor, and receive one additional potion at base level (healing or stress). Reskin your character to fit a cyberpunk setting. You should have a clear explanation of how your powers, abilities, or class features manifest in this world. For example, a wizard might use a Spelldeck to run executable programs that project energy, or a bard might have bioengineered vocal cords that manipulate emotion or perception. You may invent your own reskin as long as the mechanical function is preserved. Write a 150-word description of your character and include a link to your Demiplane sheet or otherwise provide your character to the GM so I can recreate your character in Foundry VTT. Provide a headshot for your character. AI art is allowed, but custom art is preferred. Exceptional characters with strong backstory, creative reskinning, or thematic presentation may receive a minor magical item reward that may or may not be useful in this adventure.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Players should have an active Discord account, a reliable microphone, a quality headset, and a working PC with stable internet access in a quiet environment free from external audio distractions. Having a Demiplane account is optional but recommended, as it provides the easiest way to create and share a Daggerheart character. If you need help setting up your account or creating your character, the GM is available to assist (see the character creation section).

What Daniel | PapaRatzy brings to the table

I prefer to follow the rule of cool whenever possible. If a question of rules arises, the first question I ask myself is: what is best for the story? The game will be run in Foundry VTT, and I provide a playlist of free-use music from Pixabay to help set the mood and theme. I do my best with voices but generally avoid accents, as I am aware of my limitations in that area. I will be using Dungeon Alchemist to construct battlemaps. I also try to find thematically appropriate art for adversaries and NPCs. You will receive a Google form (not optional) to identify your lines and veils. This will be published anonymously and visually so that all players can see the combined lines and veils clearly. This game will include some combat, but also group encounters designed more like environmental challenges. Whenever possible, I encourage players to describe their actions cinematically. For example, instead of saying, "I shoot the goblin with my bow," you might say, "I draw an arrow in my bow and whisper a silent prayer that it finds its mark among the adversaries. A beat passes, then I let loose."

Homebrew rules

All content should be reskinned to fit a cyberpunk setting. Heritage: There are no ancestries in this world. Your heritage is represented by biotech modifications. You may choose mixed ancestry and combine abilities freely. Assume that any abilities you pick were installed as custom bioware. Your background represents where you grew up in the archologies. Class and Subclass: Your class and subclass represent your career. Every corporation has a place for most classes. You might be a corporate agent who uses a Spelldeck. You might have a biomesh suit that allows your body to take different forms. You might have a pet robot companion. Powers: Reskin your powers to match the cyberpunk world. They can come from nanites, drones, Spelldecks, or other technology. Describe them in a way that fits biotech, AI, or cyber systems. Weapons and Armor: You may choose any weapon and reskin it. It can be a laser, a technical device, or a cyberpunk tool. Armor can be bioplate, ceramic plating, or another suitable description. Mechanics remain the same, flavor changes to fit the world. When in doubt the GM is here to help you fit your character into the world. Chat in discord if you need recommendations.

Safety

How Daniel | PapaRatzy creates a safe table

All players will complete a Lines and Veils google form. This form will be anonymous and I will share a summary that will make it clear what content needs to be avoided to make the table safe. In addition, players are encouraged to interrupt game either by shooting me a private message or by speaking up if they are uncomfortable with the content. We will either fade the scene or discuss as is appropriate. The point is to tell a good story not to push boundaries. Finally I am available to discuss and correct any issues that arrise. If you are unsatisfied with the adventure I would much rather refund you the money you spent than to get a bad review. Please talk to me!
