About the adventure

STAR WARS: SHADOWS OF THE EMPIRE begins on TATOOINE, in a dust choked backwater port where minor crime bosses, smugglers, and opportunists are looking to carve out territory on the edge of HUTT SPACE. In recent months, THE EMPIRE has begun tightening control over trade routes and fringe systems and small resistance cells have started to emerge. Meanwhile a lesser-known Hutt has begun expanding operations in the region, pushing into routes and holdings that do not belong to him. This has drawn the attention of more established powers in Hutt Space, who have employed outside agents (YOU) to interfere with the upstart’s operations. Our game will start one year before A NEW HOPE, which means that THE EMPIRE maintains firm control over major trade routes and continues to tighten its grip on fringe systems, all while scattered resistance cells begin to take shape in the shadows all over the galaxy. At this stage, THE REBELLION is not yet unified, they are only a loose network of smugglers, defectors, and dissidents, far removed from the work you've been hired to do... for now. Character options are going to be grounded in the era. The party may include no more than one former JEDI KNIGHT, one FORCE-SENSITIVE, and one CLONE TROOPER. These roles carry *significant* narrative weight and risk, but are otherwise highly encouraged. Any open use of THE FORCE or recognizable ties to THE REPUBLIC will draw attention from Imperial authorities, most notably THE ISB, THE INQUISITORIUS, and LORD VADER himself. I run structured, immersive sessions designed to balance storytelling, tactical gameplay, and player agency, so every session feels meaningful, engaging, and worth your time and money. You can expect a polished, well-prepared experience with cinematic presentation, clear guidance, and a strong focus on player engagement from start to finish. My goal is to create a fun, welcoming, and immersive experience where your character matters, your choices have impact, and you always know what’s going on.

About me

David the Strong grew frustrated, stood up, and said, "You know what? Forget this puzzle. I'm going to break down that door!" He climbed up the stone ledge, he swung his hammer, and the door exploded with thunder magic, blasting him off the ledge and onto the puzzle on the floor, which triggered a fire trap. And with everyone at the table crying from laughter, that's how David the Strong died in a one-shot. A little about me, my name is Zaya, I'm a teacher, I've been a GM for TTRPG's for over 20 years now, and am lucky to have completed a majority of campaigns that I've helped start. You will find me running published content like Curse of Strahd, Lost Mine of Phandelver, and Star Wars EotE: Scum & Villainy, but with heavily modified story beats to shape the players background into the narrative. My campaigns typically last 1 to 2 years and they are sandbox / open world main quests that are filed with: side quests, tactical combat with boss phases, building and maintaining strongholds, relationship leveling system for recurring NPCs, music, character voices, background art, dynamic lighting, unique NPC tokens and creature types, puzzle handouts, magic items wishlists, lifestyle bonus system, downtime activities, homebrew rewards, and more. I'm just starting out on here so I'll be running a heavily modified Lost Mine of Phandelver mini-adventure. Once I get established, I would like to do some more long-form campaigns like Curse of Strahd. Be sure to check out my games list and if there's a spot open then come have a seat at the table and let's unleash our imagination together.

Safety

How Zaya creates a safe table

Star Wars is a setting that can include mature themes such as violence, war, and oppression. Although prejudice within the setting, like anti-droid sentiment, may appear contextually, any real world racism, sexism, or hate speech will result in immediate removal from the table. Before the campaign begins, we’ll discuss content boundaries during character creation (Session 0), including any topics players would like to avoid or fade to black.
