About the adventure
Times are tough and honest work has been hard to come by in the city of Menzoberranzen lately, and your party is becoming desperate. To avoid turning to the life of a brigand, you start seeking a different route to make a living, or even just a soft bed to sleep in with a hot meal- one that you’re not locked up in. An Arch Mage of a secret order, Vizeran DeVir, has heard of your need, and comes to you with an offer you can’t quite refuse. A hefty sum to get your party comfortably through the next few years, the most generous offer you’ve heard in some time. His request? He wants you to raid the lair of the terrifying giant purple worm that tunnels through the lands. Her eggs have a special quality, you see. She’s somehow been attuned to a magical item she’s consumed, probably from a previous adventurer that fell prey. This Arch Mage plans to build a dark heart with this clutch of stolen eggs. A way to stem the tides of Lolth’s devastation, along with the rest of the demon lords, and he’s willing to pay for your troubles. There’s also the well known rumor of the ore deposits the worms leave behind after burrowing, leading to an additional appealing boon to your fortunes! What does this mean for our upcoming foe? Well, she’s old, ancient, actually. Suffused with the magical power granted by the item, she’s gained longevity and a bit of intelligence. A mighty menace, indeed! What Bit of Wit brings to the table
