About the adventure

👁️‍🗨️ Uncover a conspiracy spanning centuries, planets and millions of people. 👁️‍🗨️ Fight a shadow war against an existential threat to the whole of Macharian sector. 👁️‍🗨️ Reveal the true extent of horror that the fabled Rogue Trader, Erasmus Haarlock, left behind... or did he, really? There is no true innocence amidst the dark stars - only degrees of guilt. Finding and punishing the witch, the mutant and the heretic is the job of the most secretive of all the Imperial organisations - the Holy Ordos of the Inquisition. You have all been elevated out of obscurity and given a chance to spend your lives in the unsung, unappreciated and most likely brutally short toil for the Inquisitor of Ordo Hereticus. The Long Night left the Macharian sector reeling and ruined. You will investigate heresies, tangle with corrupt nobility, come face to face with sinister cults and unfathomably alien xenos - and as a pattern to the recent troubles of the sector begins to emerge, you will get a chance to follow in the footsteps of perhaps the greatest villain to ever exist in this grim, dimished age of the Imperium... It is a campaign of slow-burn investigation, connecting the disparate dots and horror beyond reason. It is also the only way your lives would ever matter on a scale beyond the hive substack of your birth. So gather your tools and load your weapons, acolytes. The hunt for Haarlock's Legacy begins.

About me

Greetings from Central Asia! English isn't my first language - but I have over a decade of experience as an interpreter and a tour guide both in English and in German. You (probably) won't have to worry about not being able to understand me on voice chats! :D At present, I run a successful Discord server with multiple tables (and awesome people there!), as well as a few games in-person in Almaty, Kazakhstan.

Character creation

Creating your character

I am ready to help you iron out any difficulties in creating your character during a 1-on-1 session 0, and to better tie your PC into the ongoing investigations and personal bonds of the cell. Since it's an ongoing campaign, the cell has already been established and the agents created - but there's always room for more!

What to expect

Preparing for the session

You'll need a Discord account and a decent microphone. Preferrably a quiet environment with low background noise for the duration of the session. The only other requirement is signing up to the Forge (the VTT where the game will happen) It is free to create and use as a player. You will also need to join the Discord server where the game is going to happen. You will receive the link to it in the Prep Materials section when you sign up to the game.

What Sergey Sakharov brings to the table

I'll bring a fully set up campaign on Foundry, complete with scenic art, battlemaps and tokens - everything you need to visualise your journey through the Sea of Fangs! The majority of the game takes place in Theater of the Mind, so I will have illustrated scenes, tokens and other visual aids to facilitate your imagination. Since it's an investigative game, notes, clues and other important handouts will also be present. Battlemaps will be used for complicated tactical scenarios to make sure we're all on the same page! I tend to follow the players' lead in the games. Most of the time my adventures are shaped as "landscapes", with multiple ways to achieve your goals. Railroading is usually not something I do.

Safety

How Sergey Sakharov creates a safe table

Warhammer 40.000 is a grimdark setting. Despair, oppression, death, horrors both mundane and eldritch - you can expect that aplenty. That said, there are a few lines that won't be crossed under any circumstances: - Explicit depiction of sexual encounters. They may be hinted at, but never "on screen". - No sexual assault of PCs or NPCs. - Gory naturalistic details of violence will be mostly given "at large". I don't delve into the massive amount of bloody details. Warhammer as such has just about every content warning out there applicable to it, but if you're signing up for this game I'll assume you're aware.
