About the adventure
No Pact Worlds to speak of here. In this universe, the galaxy is run by ruthless colonizing fleets and megacorporations (though some of the latter can be suspiciously benevolent). Somewhere on the edge of known space lies Ouros-9, an uncharted frontier world rumored to hold a massive, abandoned ancient medical and genetic archive known as the "Ghost Clinic." For some, it’s a prize to be stripped and sold. For others, it holds the answers to biological mysteries, the cure to a looming galactic calamity, or the perfect refuge for a displaced civilization. The race to unearth the secrets of Ouros-9 has begun.

About me
15k+ Hours GMed | 7 Year Pro | Narrative-Focused Beyond all the above, what you're getting with me as a DM is a friendly, relaxed experience. In interpreting rules and making judgment calls, I aim for consistency and tend to err on the side of the player if there's no clear-cut answer at hand. While the PC adventurers may delve into all manner of dark, dangerous places, I try to build a welcoming environment for all players, which includes prioritizing player safety and ongoing communication. We play games to have fun, and that's only possible if players' needs are met. If all of the above sounds like the sort of thing you're looking for, don't hesitate to reach out and schedule your next adventure today. I look forward to hearing from you!

Creating your character
The first couple sessions have already happened, but there's still plenty of opportunity to team up with the party before the bulk of the main quest begins! We'll be using standard character creation rules for SF2e, none of the optional stuff just yet. I'll send you an invite to our campaign on Demiplane & Roll20, which we'll be using in tandem for sheets and tabletop display, respectively. Since the game is already underway, we won't have dedicated character sheet time until our next level up, but I (and likely some of the other players) will be happy to work with you outside game time to get your character all squared away. We're currently level 1; I'll update this listing as necessary to ensure starting level is current.
Please note that there are 4 other players in this group already, and I will not be forcing them to sign up for this platform just to RSVP. So we'll be rolling with either 5 or 6 players. We've currently got an envoy, a mystic, a soldier and an operative.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
You'll need an account on Roll20 and Discord; you can actually use said Roll20 account to log into Demiplane, since they're owned by the same company. Roll20 and Demiplane are completely browser-based, and while you can use Discord on browser, I gather it's more stable if you use the standalone app. You'll need a total of three invites to access everything, which I will provide upon sign-up: one to the community Discord, one to the Roll20 campaign, and one to the corresponding Demiplane campaign.
What Eric (RockNRole) brings to the table
I'm a pro GM of nearly ten years now, so I've got tons of fun voices, vibrant maps, and other visual aids. Because I find so many people would rather set their own soundtrack via Spotify or whatever, I don't typically use ambient music anymore. Combat is challenging, but not so brutal as to demand a certain kind of character design from players. I've been called "brutal, but fair" regarding how I play my characters intelligently without feeling the need to give them plot armor. I tend to run things pretty much Rules as Written, though I typically try to decide ambiguities in the players' favor. We're here to have fun, after all!

Safety
How Eric (RockNRole) creates a safe table
Session Zero has already happened, but to summarize the safety tools discussed then, here's a recap: All participants in a game are free at any time to inform the GM of any topics they'd rather avoid, or for which they prefer we fade to black. Obviously, it's ideal to inform the group ahead of time to the degree possible, but the reality of an unscripted game where anything can happen necessitates folks be able to object mid-session as well. A quick "timeout" or "excuse me," followed by any relevant updates about the subject matter, will see any concerns taken care of. I also keep a proactive lookout for these things, and if I sense tensions running high, I'll call a timeout and check in with the players.
