About the adventure
SOMETHING BEAUTIFUL IS GOING TO HAPPEN It is '68 in Doskvol; 100 years have passed since those dark old days of superstitions and shattered suns. Now the city thrives under the protection of the Bubble, and revolutionary technology generates real sunlight in the sky called Bluetime. Ghosts, demons, and other supra-natural phenomena are conveniently explained by the rationality of the Age of Consensus. But that doesn't mean Doskvol isn't haunted by its past. Unity War II and III have come and gone, and the Imperium buckles. World powers grapple in cold wars, the decadent elite consolidate corporate power, and the glow of the Bubble, the casinos, and psychedelic new drugs and technology attract those who can afford them. Meanwhile, the walls close in on everyone who can't. Something ought to be done. That's where you come in. Fight for the people. Join revolutionaries, countercultural groups, labor unions, and street gangs pushing back on a world that wants them docile and complacent. Smash the old order and make room for something new. Build something they can never tear down. And try not to lose yourself in the process. This game uses the "Blades '68" expansion for Blades in the Dark to play daring criminals fighting the power in a sci-fi fantasy city inspired especially by the video game Disco Elysium. It will alternate biweekly with another group playing in the same city. You may have the opportunity to interact with, help, or hinder your sister crew!

Meet the Game Master
About me
Sean is a video creator, game designer, adventure author, actor, comedian, and professional game master who brings his passion for collaborative storytelling to a wide audience. His goal is to grow and diversify the tabletop gaming hobby by inspiring people to play for the first time, players to GM for the first time, and GMs to try new games for the first time! His games are story-driven, and always include three-dimensional characters complete with unique voices, powerful factions, dynamic conflicts, thrilling scenes of tension and suspense, and a dash of humor. Play a game with Sean if you want to unlock your inner storyteller and tell an unforgettable tale! He is available to book for public drop-in/drop-out campaigns, one-shots, private campaigns, and one-on-one "campaign consultations" for GMs both amateur and professional! Feel free to direct message him for more information. Sean is an inclusive GM, and bigotry of any kind is not tolerated at his table. His games are LGBTQIA+ friendly, and open to players of all experience levels.

Creating your character
We'll create characters together in the first session. If you're joining after the first session, I'll meet with you outside of the game to help you create a character if you're not comfortable making one on your own, and we'll integrate them into the crew within the first five minutes of your first game!
What to expect
Preparing for the session
You will need a microphone and (preferably) headphones for voice. I will be on video but players are not expected nor required to be. You will need free accounts for Discord and Roll20. There is absolutely no need to be familiar with the rules of the game; I regularly teach this game to new players, and you will learn as we go!
What Sean Foer brings to the table
I use Roll20's excellent Blades in the Dark tools, maps, and tokens for my Blades games! I have a Roll20 Pro subscription and may play atmospheric music during the game. You can expect me to bring my signature rich, highly motivated, fully voice-acted characters to the table to bring the groovy world of Doskvol '68 to life! I'm also a skilled improviser, so you can be certain that everything YOU do as a player is the driver of the story!

How Sean Foer creates a safe table
We'll discuss lines and veils as a group before the campaign begins or when a new player joins! I use digital or messaged X, N, and O cards and also use the traffic light system on voice for check-ins.
