Taking on foes steel to steel, magic against magic, and making allies of all shapes and sizes. About me
My name's Ben, and I've been a DM for a four person group for 2 years, as well as being a DM for a Westmarch Server for about 3 years before that. I've been playing RPGs overall for about 8 years, give or take a few months.

Creating your character
We'll be creating the characters during Session 1, and we'll be starting AT Level 1; We'll be rolling 3d6 for stats, rerolling 1s where needed. You'll be able to take a starting feat as long as it's logical. As for books, I'll be adding you to a campaign on DnD Beyond where you can share all the sourcebooks I have access too. If you wish, I also use the 'Ryoko's Guide to the Yokai Realms' and 'Heliana's Guide to Monster Hunting' to draw from too, so you can use those species and classes as well. We'll also be using Milestone Levelling as well.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Please have an account available on Discord and DnDBeyond; I will be adding you all to a group Chat so we can all communicate, and will be adding you to my DnDBeyond Campaign to allow you access to everything. You will need a Mic to communicate; webcam not necessary as I won't be using one myself. I will discuss with players which VTT they wish to use; I use Owlbear Rodeo mostly, but I'm also good to use DnDBeyond's VTT as well.
What PierceTheSky BM brings to the table
I use ambient music and do my best to add interesting and unique NPC voices. I'll stick to Rules as Written as much as possible, but I'm not averse to using the Rule of Cool if something is just too good to pass up; More like 'Rules as Guidelines'. My Combat would be fair but challenging, and players will always have a chance to run if necessary. I much rather players experiment with outlandish ideas that may not work than play it super safe. For those who may have played this module before, I may add in some small changes to spice things up, such as adding new monsters where appropriate. If you wish to try out a voice or something a little kooky, by all means try it out here; This is a safe place to test your ideas. All in all, we're going to have a gentleman's agreement; You're here to have fun and engage with the module, I'm here to have fun and run the module, and we're here to have a good time.
Homebrew rules
Drinking a potion is a bonus action. We'll be using 'Perkins' Crits- On a crit, one die roll is max damage. Death Saves will include a flashback for the downed player per roll to keep them in the flow of combat.

How PierceTheSky BM creates a safe table
We'll be doing X, N & Os both digitally and verbally; If something needs attention, simply say 'messages' or 'pause' and we can address it at once. If we match up and you wish to continue with me, I will be sending each player an 'RPG Consent Checklist' to fill out after Session 0 so I can see what topics each player is comfortable and not comfortable with. These will be in private and not shared with anyone else.
