About the adventure
To those bold enough to answer my invitation, Beyond the choking mists lies my ancient valley of Barovia, a land of shadowed forests, crumbling villages, forgotten churches, and terrors that stir beneath the endless night. Wolves howl in the distance, the dead do not always stay buried, and hope is a fragile flame easily swallowed by darkness. Those who wander these lands quickly learn that monsters wear many faces, some far more human than others. This adventure is a gothic horror campaign set within the haunted realm of Barovia, where survival demands courage, wit, and the willingness to face dreadful truths. Players will explore cursed villages, confront creatures of the night, uncover tragic histories, and slowly unravel the dark power that holds the land in its grasp. Every choice carries weight, and even victory may come at a cost. My table favors immersive roleplay, tense exploration, and meaningful character decisions. Combat can be dangerous and the world is not always fair, but clever thinking, teamwork, and bravery will carry you far. The tone leans heavily into suspense, mystery, and atmosphere, where dread builds slowly and the horrors you encounter are as tragic as they are terrifying. Creating your character
Characters will be created on DnD Beyond, I have many source books to choose from. If you want to use something homebrew, we can talk about it and it will be a case by case decision on if you're able to. We will discuss characters and backstories once we have enough players. You can roll for stats, and backstories are more than welcome, I will do my best to incorporate what I can. We will be starting at level 3, I will send the campaign link when you join, but please wait to create your character until session 0. You can work on an idea for what you'd like/backstory, but the creation itself will be done as a group! I also have a google questionnaire for everyone to fill out prior to session zero for any topics to avoid or triggers I need to be aware of.

What Adri brings to the table
I do my best with NPC voices and characterization, I also will do my best to have ambient music. I am all about the rule of cool (within reason), and have an open door policy! I want YOU to enjoy yourself, so any feedback or concerns are always taken seriously and handled with much care. You are more than welcome to romance any of my NPC's, I will never initiate anything and we will always use "fade to black" in risque situations.
Homebrew rules
The PC who does the session recap will get a DM inspiration. I have a deal with the devil scenario, you can turn any roll into a nat20, but you will owe a debt (meaning at any point I can turn one of your rolls into a Nat1)

How Adri creates a safe table
I will have everyone fill out a questionnaire on what they are and are not comfortable with for the campaign. If at any point something unexpectedly comes up and you need to step away or take a moment, you can just DM me and let me know. I also have an open door policy, I want to know anything and everything that will help me run a safe and fun game for you!
