About the adventure

"This town is marked for death." A cloaked man stood atop the central fountain, allowing his cape to billow in the faint wind. "Leave now or suffer a gruesome fate." Two weeks later, all the residents of Brambleford disappeared, turning the quaint village into a ghost town. Something has been targeting towns in Galar. Entire populations of towns have gone missing without any explanation or warning, except one lone cloaked harbinger. Despite the region's best efforts, no progress has been made on stopping this new threat, and with most of the smaller towns already affected, it's only a matter of time before the larger cities become targets. But rather than looking towards the grim future, the solution may be hiding deep within the forgotten past. The game will consist of myself and four to five players starting at level 30. We will play for three hours every week (which will be discussed further in session 0.) The game will cost $15 USD a week, though session 0 will be free. I offer a full refund for anyone who wishes to leave before session 3. Roll20 will be used for maps, music and character sheets while Discord will be used for voices.

About me

My years of GMing have taught me many things, like how handing player a sad wet dog of a man is the easiest way to create an NPC they'll love, and Mimics make for great pets. I love making and running games that truly feel like a collaborative effort, a game that players can become immersed in. Hi! I'm Rex! I'm 25 and an AroAce theatre nerd who loves ttrpgs. I've been playing ttrpgs for about a decade now and have been a GM for most of that time. I live in France studying to be an English teacher though grew up in Australia so English is my first language. I love creating stories and acting, with Voice Acting being a hobby of mine. I'm a huge fan of roleplay in games and could spend hours roleplaying if given the chance. I've run and played in various systems, and so I have experience to run games in those systems as well as help new players learn them. The systems I'm familiar with include: Alice Is Missing Anime Campaign (Epithets) Daggerheart Demigods Digimon: Digital Adventure Dungeons and Dragons (5e) Fabula Ultima Masks: A New Generation Monster of the Week Mutants and Masterminds Pokemon Tabletop Adventures 2 Pokemon Tabletop United You Awaken in a Strange Place

Character creation

Creating your character

Character creation will take place during session 0, though you are allowed to create characters in advance. Characters will be Lv 30 and have four Lv 35 pokémon. I will be available to message at any point before session 0 to ask questions about character concepts.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Players will need to have a discord and Roll20 account, as well as a mic, doesn't need to be an expensive mic but does need to at least be audible over discord.

What Rex brings to the table

This game will take place on Roll20 for maps, art and music, and Discord for voices. I favour epic fantasy stories, though this game in particular will involve a bit of mystery. While there will be combat the focus will be on the narrative, so expect a lot of roleplay and vibes with a little bit of combat for tension.

Homebrew rules

Here are a few rules I tend to use in my games. These rules, along with any others people would like to add, will be discussed further during session 0. Attack of Opportunity: I don't use AoO. I feel like it makes combat static and boring. Unless you have an ability that specifies AoO it won't come into play. Potion Usage: Humans can use a potion on themselves as a swift action, using a potion on a pokémon follows the regular rules. Flinching: Flinching acts as a one-turn paralysis; the flinched pokémon is restricted to a single action on their next turn.
