About the adventure
A mage vanished in Ipswich after a ripple of chaotic magick so strong it was felt by sleepers. You are sent to end it. That magick caused a tear. It’s unclear if it can be repaired from this side. The council has chosen to send a group of adepts, deeming that sufficient. The matter is to be handled quietly, keeping public awareness to a minimum. You will be formally debriefed before being dispatched to the disturbance itself. This chronicle is for players who enjoy slow-burn horror. The tone is psychological and oppressive. Reality does not behave here. Who you are, how you practice, and how you relate to one another will matter as much as what you can do. The greater setting is Brisbane, Australia, and its surrounding areas, where mage presence is minimal. This is an ongoing World of Darkness, where other supernatural communities have noticed changes as well, but none have made moves openly. The conflict of this mini-campaign will take place in the Umbra. After completing this arc, Brisbane awaits those brave enough to continue.

About me
Greetings! My name is Brian, and I have been playing and running tabletop RPGs for over 30 years. I grew up on Dungeons & Dragons and World of Darkness. I focus on immersive worlds, meaningful character interactions, and stories that grow organically from player choices.
View Profile →Character creation
Creating your character
Characters will be created together during Session Zero. Standard creation rules apply, with an additional 5 experience points to spend after character creation.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
A microphone is required, and a webcam is encouraged, but not necessary. We will be using Discord and Roll20 to play, so you will need (free) accounts for both of them. Character sheets will be handled within Roll20.
What Brian brings to the table
I use ambient music and custom tokens placed on photo backdrops of places rather than tactical maps. The world is unforgiving. Expect tension and consequence. Your choices matter.
Homebrew rules
The chronicle uses alternate lore and politics. Local factions, power structures, and alliances may not match player assumptions.

Safety
How Brian creates a safe table
Content warnings and safety tools are listed below. This chronicle will include graphic themes comparable to an R-rated film. Some scenes will fade to black where appropriate, while others may be described in detail. We will use Lines and Veils, and all safety preferences will be discussed during Session Zero to ensure everyone feels safe at the table. Players may adjust boundaries at any time. The goal is psychological tension, not discomfort, and communication will remain open throughout.
