About the adventure

Players take on the role of citizens of the Imperium in service to a powerful patron, with games focused on investigation and social encounters rather than combat. The Imperium is a deadly place, and the players must tread carefully if they hope to survive. Your service to your patron allows you to move through Imperial society where others can’t. The Influence you and your patron have with the many factions of the Imperium will determine how your investigations proceed, where you can go, and what resources you have access to.

About me

Hello my name is James, I have been in the hobby for almost ten years and have been a Game Master for several games a week for the last four years. I have a very wide spectrum of interest's and am always interested learning and trying out a new game systems! While I usually prefer to use pre-published campaigns as opposed to homemade I have recently both authored and ran several of my player groups through a custom setting based upon World of Darkness. I have successfully ran over three dozen modules from diverse variety of game systems including but not limited to Pathfinder 2e, Starfinder, Shadow of the Demon Lord, Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay 4e, Dungeon Crawl Classics, Call of Cthulhu 7e, Delta Green, Trail of Cthulhu, Savage Worlds and Vampire the Masquerade. I am always eager to learn new things and meet new people.

Character creation

Creating your character

Because I have access to the official foundry module, Rolling WFRP Characters should be both quick and easy. All can roll your character in the chat and drag the resulting info onto your actor sheet! the system for this specific campaign we will predominantly relying on the Career Paths, Spells, and other player options found within the Core Rulebook and Starter Set as that is what I am most familiar with. Getting together over discord, all player characters will be created one on one prior to the first session during session zero.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Equipment-wise players are expected to bring a desktop computer or laptop with a stable internet connection and a working microphone. Voice chat and the majority of text messages will be done through a discord server, I will provide the invitation link to the server when players after join the game. It is preferred that players have a noise free environment or set push to talk when there is much background noise. Players will need an account for Foundry VTT and a PC that can meet the requirements to run the software. Players are not expected to bring rulebooks to sessions but they can be useful for clarifying certain rules during a break.

What James brings to the table

In terms of experience this will be the second Warhammer Campaign and I have been running role-playing games for almost six years now but the first I run on Foundry. I am also new to running Imperium Maledictum.

Safety

How James creates a safe table

Every gaming table is unique and have their own preferences when it comes what they tend to focus their sessions on. Some groups prefer a more hack and slash style campaign focusing on engaging in daring combats often these sort of game place a heavy emphasis in dice-detailed play. Other tables favor dynamic social tension drawing on character backstory. To offer up the best possible experience for newcomers the kind of game that I am trying to run will be a perfect middle between these modes of play! Players can expect a character-focused, immersive, intrigue heavy, and lore-rich game with lethal combat!
