About the adventure
Set in Theah, a world of secret societies, ambiguous peace between nations, and, of course, pirates, this adventure plunges you into the focus of them all. Centered around an ancient, powerful gem that could dictate the future of the world, you must decide what to do with it. This is an open-ended adventure that invites you to explore your characters' dreams, goals, and ambitions, all while going through some high-stakes swashbuckling. This game will be using the 7th Sea 2nd Edition rules and only the core rulebook. It is open to anyone interested, both new and experienced with the system. Theah is the setting used in the core book, but reading all of it is not required. We will have a session 0 so I can better understand what you're looking for in the game and discuss the system.

About me
Tabletop games has been a hobby of mine for more than 10 years. I was introduced to it through a bunch of different systems other than DnD. However, since DnD was the most popular at the time, I was able to expand my reach and play with many other players. Still, I find myself deep in my roots for less crunchy systems. In the end, though, I find that I love player interactions and their reactions to situations the most. I like to laugh in absurdity, as most of the things we do are absurd. And absurdity is always good, as it lets us stretch and grasp at our imaginations, making life more colorful. Each of us will have a unique way of viewing and handling interactions and situations. Because of this, I get to learn more about the mysteries of being a person, and I love that. Overall, I love a chill, fun time. I'll be a nervous wreck half the time but at least I'll have fun.

Creating your character
I'm hoping we can discuss what each player imagines their character will do during session 0. This is to ensure we have a spread of character strengths and avoid stealing each other's spotlights. However, if you can't wait or want to prepare, you can create your characters beforehand in line with the 7th Sea 2e core rulebook. But note that if the character is created beforehand, you must be willing to make adjustments based on the group. I will be regulating this discussion during our session 0. I am willing to guide any players through character creation. We can take it step by step as I explain the rules of the game to anyone who's new.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Create accounts for Discord, which we will be using for voice and text chats, and Roll20 for keeping our character sheets and dice rolling. Both are web apps, so no need to install them, but I suggest downloading the Discord app for a more stable experience. Once you join the game, I will send links to the servers you need to join (for Discord and Roll20).
What Flip Velez brings to the table
Let's have a fun adventure. That's what is most important to me. If the rules don't necessarily work in our favor, we tweak them. I am not out to get you. I will not change the rules just to spite you or cause problems. As 7th Sea 2e lends itself to more flexible and dynamic roleplaying, we will not be using battle maps unless we deem it necessary. I will, however, attempt to display images that would best represent the current scene. I will also be playing music on Discord to support it. I will attempt to do voices, but if you find them horrible or too distracting, you can bring it up. I will not force voices for myself or from players.
Homebrew rules
I always get the feeling that I will be adjusting or breaking the rules regularly. I'll keep an open mind to your suggestions, and I hope you will do the same for me.

How Flip Velez creates a safe table
We will have a session 0 to discuss your lines and veils while employing the X, N, & O cards. X, N, & O cards may be sent to me privately, and I will adjust for you. We will take regular breaks, as well as any additional breaks when I feel it necessary.
