About the adventure
Bound Within Tempest Valley is a dark fantasy adventure. Tempest Valley is a land cut off from the world by unending storms and ancient ruins older than memory. Travelers speak of forgotten temples, perilous trials, and forces that stir beneath the thunder, yet few who enter ever return unchanged. Drawn together by circumstance and curiosity, you will journey into the valley’s depths, face its strange inhabitants, and uncover relics and mysteries buried beneath wind and stone. Whether you seek glory, knowledge, or survival, one truth is certain: Tempest Valley does not easily release those who walk its paths. This campaign centers on exploration, perilous trials, and unraveling secrets hidden within layered ruins and dangerous landscapes. Players will face varied encounters from cunning foes and environmental hazards to trap-laden temples and puzzle-driven challenges where observation, teamwork, and creative thinking are as valuable as steel and spellcraft. Victories reveal fragments of a larger truth, and each success carries the sense that the valley itself is slowly awakening. The tone blends dark mystery with heroic adventure. Expect moments of tension and foreboding punctuated by discovery, wonder, and hard-won triumph. The world rewards curiosity and caution alike, and players who engage with the environment, lore, and subtle clues will find deeper meaning behind the trials they face. This game is ideal for players who enjoy immersive storytelling, tactical encounters, environmental puzzles, and uncovering hidden narratives over time. I run a collaborative, character-driven table where clever solutions are encouraged, roleplay is welcomed, and the consequences of choices help shape the unfolding story. Whether you come seeking glory, knowledge, or survival, Tempest Valley promises a journey where every step forward feels earned and nothing is quite as it first appears.

Meet the Game Master
About me
I’m a 26-year-old Dungeon Master who loves creating fun, immersive tabletop experiences. I’m still fairly new to the TTRPG world, but I’ve played in multiple campaigns and currently DM for my friends, this is something I’ve really fallen in love with. I focus on storytelling, creativity, and making sure everyone at the table feels involved and excited to play. My DMing style is collaborative and flexible, and I enjoy adapting to my players’ ideas to create memorable moments. Whether you’re brand new to tabletop games or have years of experience, my goal is to make sure everyone feels welcome and leaves the session having had a great time.

Creating your character
Characters and character art will be created in session zero in Roll20. Stats will be rolled. Starting at level 1. We'll be referring to standard Dungeons and Dragons 5.5e(2024) Rules.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
We'll be using Discord for communication and the Roll20 website for visualization. It would help a lot if you have a working mic/headset, if not that's fine(typing in chat is accepted), as long as you can hear me as I will be narrating the entire campaign.
What Jason brings to the table
I will be voice acting for my NPCs and there will be ambient music. There will be a lot of combat. I like to refer to the rules as written, !!!BUT!!! if what you want to do is realistic and sounds balanced "I'll allow it"
Homebrew rules
I have made a few QoL changes to some "upkeep" rules. The reason for this is that I want the campaign to be focused on the "what's next" elements rather than the "this again..." elements. For example, you don't need to worry about your character's nourishment as that is a built-in part of the campaign.

Safety
How Jason creates a safe table
I have my own personal favorite safety tool The Trigger Checklist: I communicate with my players at session zero to compile a list of triggers (Public and non-Public). The point of this checklist is so that we can discuss the "Public" triggers with the rest of the players and if any of the "non-Public" triggers appear during a session I can address it before it becomes an issue.
