About the adventure
Under raging storm clouds, a lone figure stands silhouetted against the ancient walls of Castle Ravenloft. The vampire Count Strahd von Zarovich stares down a sheer cliff at the village below. A cold, bitter wind spins dead leaves about him, billowing his cape in the darkness. Lightning splits the clouds overhead, casting stark white light across him. Strahd turns to the sky, revealing the angular muscles of his face and hands. He has a look of power—and of madness. His once handsome face is contorted by a tragedy darker than the night itself. Rumbling thunder pounds the castle spires. The wind's howling increases as Strahd turns his gaze back to the village. Far below, yet not beyond his ken, a party of adventurers has just entered his domain. Strahd's face forms a twisted smile as his dark plan unfolds. He knew they were coming, and he knows why they have come—all according to his plan. He, the master of Ravenloft, will attend to them. Another lightning flash rips through the darkness, its thunder echoing through the castle's towers. But Strahd is gone. Only the howling of the wind—or perhaps a lone wolf—fills the midnight air. The master of Ravenloft is having guests for dinner. And you are invited ---------- This is a campaign designed for 4-6 characters levels 1-10. Horror beats at the heart of this game. While this game will be open to all experience levels, I do ask for players who have never played Curse of Strahd.

About me
Just a dude, playing a dude, disguised as another dude. I've been the Forever DM (TM) for the past 15+ years in my TTRPG journey and have enjoyed every minute of it. I tend to focus, and even specialize, in narrative driven, character focused games with improvization as a core mechanic. The Golen Rule and Rule 0 are my bread and butter. The rules are there as guidelines and as long as the players (and DM) are having fun, the rules can be bent or even broken if it leads to a better story.

Creating your character
Character creation will happen on the discord server and during session 0. Stats are standard array, starting level is 1st. I'm open to any official D&D race/class but if there is a specific homebrew or 3rd party option you're interested in, let me know. Official character sheets will be stored on the Foundry server after session 0.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
You will need a Discord account at the very minimum. Once you've joined the game, I will send you the link to the Discord and will get you plugged into the right channels and we can start prepping characters and meeting the other party members.
What DM Daniel brings to the table
I do character voices as much as possible. I don't typically use music as it can be distracting to myself and others, but that's not to say you can't have your own playlist going during the game. I focus on Rule of Cool and Rule Zero much more than RAW. And I tend to reward good character work and roleplay more than min-maxed and optimized builds. Please do not plan on bringing powerhouse characters. You will likely be frustrated if you attempt to bring some min-maxed powerhouse character as I will nerf them without issue. Imperfect and flawed characters are must more interesting than perfect number crunched cookie cutter characters.

How DM Daniel creates a safe table
During session 0 I make a point to talk through lines and veils. I also hold an open door policy and am always available to talk through issues. I tend to be very attentive to the issues and moods of my players at and away from the table.
