About the adventure

They say the Gods, so offended by the sins of mortals, abandoned us, including the Sun. Now, what civilization remains subsists on the cinders of left behind godly power, while the ever-present Umbra threatens to consume all that remains. You are a Pyre Keeper, responsible for keeping your community safe and the spark of divine flame you all rely on burning bright. You may have known this home, these people, all your life, or you may be a vagabond, moving from Pyre to Pyre ahead of the darkness. Either way, you'll protect this place with steel, magic, and your very life, even as the light grows dimmer night after night. But as long as there is light, there is life. And as long as there is life, there is hope. Will you pierce through the Umbra and restore the world? Or watch the last cinders die in the dark? Only fate knows, but either way you will fight.

About me

I've been GM-ing role playing games as long as I've been playing them, going back all the way to ye olde 3.5e days when I was the first in my group to read the Dungeon Master's Guide. Two decades later and this forever DM is ready to share that experience with the world. I've earned my stripes in everything from White Wolf's Storyteller system to several editions and renditions of the DnD formula to the fast and dirty combat of the Shadowrun universe. Multiple campaigns have run to high levels under my stewardship, so you know when you book with me that I'm in it for the long haul. As a neurodivergent person living with a disability, I value the space for creativity and expression that roleplaying games allow for, and I want to give the chance to experience it to everyone. I pride myself on running an inclusive table, and I am a firm believer that neurodivergent, LGBTQIA+, disabled, and minority voices enrich the experience for everyone. My email and discord accounts are responsive and checked daily, and I'm always excited to plan character progression, work on background inclusion, or talk mechanics whether you're brand new to the system or an experienced hand. Proudly AI image free, and proud of SP.G, myself, and my community of patrons for donating over $2000 dollars to charities for the disenfranchised, for victims, and to provide better tomorrows for a diverse range of people!

Character creation

Creating your character

Players who know how can create a level 1 Daggerheart character using the standard rules. For those who need help, we will do so during session 0.

The current party

We are currently level 3, with a party consisting of a faun witch, and human druid, a infernis seraph, and a giant wizard. It would be excellent to bring in a warrior, guardian, brawler, or other martial-ish class, but all are welcome!

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Play Elden Ring, Watch Pan's Labyrinth, and Critical Role's Age of Umbra campaign. Then, make sure you have free accounts to forge-vtt.com and discord. A Demiplane account is optional but useful for sharing rules.

What Ross brings to the table

I will provide decades of experience, flexible voices for characters, haunting soundscapes, and a Rule of Cool style that will make everyone feel like a true hero.

How Ross creates a safe table

Safety cards will be available at all time, and may be used in private, on the vtt, or audibly. Before Session 0 each player is required to fill out a Line and Veils google document to ensure that everyone feels safe enough to have fun during game. I am available for aftercare virtually whenever a player needs support.
