About the adventure

The story will run parallel to the events of the Babylon 5 TV series, unless/until your characters change the galaxy, but players will be free to act as they wish, go where they wish (although, if you go to Z'ha'dum... you will die), interact with the main characters of the TV series, and my own, hopefully just as memorable, additions and creations. The system uses a 2d6 mechanic. where one dice is the positive, and the other dice is negative. and you use whichever has the lowest face value, so the dice roll can give negative modifiers to ability and stat scores if you roll higher on the positive dice than the negative dice. There is a quite lengthy character backstory process as part of character creation, which involves GM player collaboration and some one-on-one role-play, some players have remarked to me is like taking the G.O.A.T exam in Fallout 3.

About me

Hey, I am the Alchemedian, i've been playing and DM'ing for around thirty years, a whole bunch of systems, a whole bunch of games. I love bringing characters and NPC's to life, and encouraging others to do the same. I'm descriptive with my world, my in-game politics (i'd rather leave real world politics far away from my games, please), and my combat. I use a lot of humour as well, and try not to take my games too seriously, while still being immersive and realistic, think part Excalibur part Monty Pythons Holy Grail, and you probably get Discworld, which... yeah, more Discworld. I also work with players to create backstories together that grow the characters organically, and use their backstories to build any central story around.

Character creation

Creating your character

Character creation is a joint process i will go through with each player, message me; FoolMcFoolhardy on Discord to arrange a time to go through character creation. You will need pen, pencil, and paper. and a knowledge of the TV series, at least watch a couple of episodes

What to expect

Preparing for the session

You need to message me on Discord, and i will invite you to the server

What Alchemedian brings to the table

I do character voices (some much better than others, admittedly), and will keep track of what is happening in the tv series as best as possible given that most episodes don't say how long it is between them, while creating a story using character backstories, and events in-game related to either the TV series or player backstories and actions in-game. I don't anticipate much combat, but when it does happen, it will be descriptive and tense. I will give NPC stance, and exactly how they are positioned and what their attacks look like and where they are aimed, and need the same from players.

Lines and Veils, Triggers, and the themes and tones of the game will be discussed at the beginning of character creation one-on-one with each player. Stop and Go signals are to be verbal, or messaged to me during the game. If anyone needs aftercare they can talk to me at the end of a session, or message me to schedule a talk.
