About the adventure
This is a small campaign dedicated to learning how to play Dungeons & Dragons and getting into the world of role-playing. You donāt need to know anything about D&D or role-playing to get started: We will go on your terms and I will teach you what you want to learn. You can come for one or more sessions. We are playing a prewritten adventure called The Book of Cylinders which is part of Candlekeep Mysteries adventure book. This is a fun adventure with many beautiful locations and whimsical non-player characters. You will be part of a group and your goal is to solve a problem of frog people known as Grippli. What to expect when you learn with me - Focus on you: D&D can be a lot; we donāt need to tackle it all at once. We will focus on you and your character. - Slow pace: I make sure that you understand what is happening and why. - Keep it simple: The point is not to confuse or overwhelm you. Simple is the best way to learn. - Keep it relevant: I will make sure that we will focus on what matters and give you what you need. I will not waste your time. Before the first session, I will ask you about your experience with D&D or other table-top role-playing games. I will also ask you what you are looking to learn. I will then prepare everything that is needed and give you all the instructions that you need for the session. Character creation we can do either together, or if you are familiar with it, you can also do it on your own with my instructions (I have a very clear video on how to do it) using my D&D Beyond access. For the session we use Discord. When you join the game, you will receive an invitation to my Living Fantasy Discord server. During the session we are using online tools. In my games I use D&D Beyond and Foundry VTT. They are both great tools for running D&D games and many Dungeon Masters use them. Side note (and donāt worry if you donāt understand what this means; this is what everybody is playing now): I teach D&D 5th edition with the 2024 modern rules. I can either provide you with a pre-generated character if you want to get right into the game, or we can create a character together from scratch and also learn how that happens.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
After booking a session, you will receive an email with a link to my Discord server. For the session you need: - A computer/laptop. - A headset or similar for hearing and talking. - Discord.
What GM Jane brings to the table
I will share the 2024 rule books with you in D&D Beyond and provide the licensed version of Foundry VTT where the gameplay happens. Other than this, you get to enjoy the immersive storytelling and voice acting (supported with beautiful art, inspiring battle maps, captivating music and ambience) of yours truly. I will teach you how the game works and give you the ability join longer campaigns with a good understanding of the game. I also cherish an inclusive atmosphere, so that all can feel welcome. Overall, you can expect a lot of fun with like-minded people, immersive fantasy and unforgettable moments. š« We take a break of 10 minutes roughly midway of each session.
