Monster Munchies (Dungeon Meshi-inspired quest!)
Enter a dungeon and get fed, the hard way — monster munching is as not-for the-faint-of-heart as it is legally distinct from a certain Netflix anime!

About the adventure
Explore a lost dungeon in a forgotten land, and forage for food — the hard way! One or more players can give their character a free Chef feat (D&D 5e) to help heal your allies with culinary concoctions, but be warned: food is scarce in the dungeon, so you’ll need to hunt and cook the creepy crawlies, ghastly ghoulies and monstrous marvels that call the dungeon home! The dungeon has immense rewards for those willing to fight for them — and munch for them.

About me
Howdy, I'm Emil! I'm a NYC-based GM looking to run cool games for cool folks (maybe even in person?)! Mostly know DnD & StarWars 5e, love to develop homebrew one-shot and campaign settings that center & reward player exploration!

Creating your character
Characters will be built collaboratively in Session Zero and privately before session one, but players are encouraged to come in with ideas/draft characters! There will be a D&D Beyond link for character creation that will provide players with extensive character and class options to choose from. Characters will start at level 2 or 3, get a free feat, and their stats/HP will be rolled “in front of the board” with the group in Session Zero (don’t worry, I’ll intervene if one or two players roll obscenely low across stats lol) (P.S. If you choose to start your PC at a lower level than 3, there may be mechanical and in-story rewards in store 👀)
What to expect
Preparing for the session
- Players will need a webcam and mic to participate, as well as a (free!) DnD Beyond account for character creation and use of the virtual tabletop! We can make paper and pen and physical dice work if needed, but I think this helps immersion. - We can review rules in our Session Zero, please flag any points you’d like me to address whenever possible.
What brooklyngoblin brings to the table
🎲 D&D Beyond Master tier account with enhanced options for character creation and virtual tabletop 🤠 Fun character voices, ambient noise and background music playlists, and illustrated maps ⚔️ Creative combat encounters that drive the story forward, can definitely ratchet up the difficulty for a more tactical group 📖 Know the rules back to front and add some quality of life improvement rules changes, but really enjoy a good Rule of Cool moment when it comes
Homebrew rules
Permanent injury rules for large instances of damage taken by characters; misfire rules for certain weapons.

Safety
How brooklyngoblin creates a safe table
- First session will be a Session Zero, introducing the world and building characters collaboratively, with time to discuss triggers and safety and maybe some sandbox battling! - Will send a link or PDF by with the Monte Cook checklist. - Players can publicly or privately text with X, N, or O to have a moment to check in above the table. - We’ll do a quick Stars and Wishes at the end of each session!
