About the adventure
If you've ever wanted an introduction to something outside of the standard RPG umbrella, this is your chance! This one-shot is here to teach you the ins and outs of Pirate Borg with a concise adventure through the starter setting outlined in the core rulebook. We'll start with character creation (for those who prefer it, I will also bring pre-generated ones), then hop right into the action. We'll explore each of the main systems of Pirate Borg, from high seas action to exploration to searching for plunder left by the conquistadors of old. You'll be able to tackle any Pirate Borg game after playing this intro session. After you make it out alive (and even if you don't) I'll be offering further adventures in Black Coral Bay and beyond with your characters, booty intact. But--it all starts here!

About me
I'm a long time gamer looking to get out of boring office work, and work in a field I deeply enjoy. Why not this one? I have been gaming for almost 25 years now. I started with D&D and over time my tastes and rulesets expanded to where they are now. I started as a player, but over time I stepped up to relieve our Forever GM. I have GMed campaigns, one shots, and everything in between at this point.

Creating your character
We will be creating characters using the normal Pirate Borg rules at the beginning of the session. I will also have pre-generated characters created in Foundry VTT using Limithron's generator available for folks if they'd rather just give the gameplay a go.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Players will need a free Foundry Virtual Tabletop account and to join Discord for voice chat and communication.
What Zach brings to the table
I'm new to using VTT's extensively, but I've been running and participating in RPGs for over 15 years. I've done a deep dive into Foundry to provide a wonderful experience for my players. Professional maps, ambient audio, and a wealth of tokens and assets should provide an immersive roleplaying session when combined with NPC voice acting. I'm no professional in that sense, but each should have a unique sound and manner to them. I am typically a Rule of Cool type person, but due to the nature of this introduction, I'll be staying a bit closer to the Rules as Written. I wouldn't want to teach you incorrectly!

How Zach creates a safe table
My X, N, and O's can be messaged digitally or held up on screen, whichever way works for you. We will take a 5-10 minute break about 2 hours in for people who need it. I also have an open door policy. If you need to leave for reasons of safety and your mental health, there'll be no hard feelings! Hopefully it doesn't come to that however.
