About the adventure

Curse of Strahd: Reloaded is a a curated reformatting of the beloved Curse of Strahd module by DragnaCarta. This campaign focuses on uncovering the mysteries of the valley of Barovia and saving the denizens who have endured the torments and evils of its liege, Strahd Von Zarovich. This is not a player centric module, meaning we will focus on the players relationships to the NPCs and world of Barovia rather than their arching narratives setup by their backstories. There is a great deal of narrative buy-in and PCs will be expected to behave as heroes capable of liberating a haunted realm. Although there will be branching paths at times, this is generally a linear adventure. This is a module all about uncovering clues to determine the deeper sources of Barovia's torment by unearthing lore & solving mysteries. Your PC's will need to work together and use their skills and actions to save the tormented denizens of the valley. So if you are a spooky sleuth, you should join me!

About me

I'm a DM specializing in DragnaCarta's "Curse of Strahd Reloaded" campaign. He has built a deeper, cohesive, story driven version of everyone's favorite Gothic Horror 5e module. I've been DM'ing actively for 6 years and have 2 groups playing in person through this masterfully re-worked campaign. I'm also launching a Sandbox-y adventure set in The Dalelands!

Character creation

Creating your character

We will collaboratively create characters as a group in our mandatory session 0.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Roll20 and Discord accounts. You will need to use Google Chrome/Mozilla Firefox to work with Roll20.

What DM Teddy B brings to the table

I do some character voices but am no voice actor. I love to pipe in ambient music. I love a mix of combat, NPC interaction, exploration, and mystery solving. I like rules but generally find them malleable within reason. My rule of thumb is, "whatever we agree to be most fun!"

Homebrew rules

I like potions as a bonus action and modified Crits. I'm pretty open to a lot of things within reason. For example, if you can pitch a solid reason why your character would have advantage, that's ok with me. But I reserve the right to deny it! And I may apply that same logic to anyone or anything you are fighting!

Safety

How DM Teddy B creates a safe table

We will discuss line and veils in session 0. Players can use X cards or whisper chats to me in Roll20 if something is crossing a line. Any interpersonal issues between players should be discussed with me in private, out of session. One major caveat- my games are typically rated PG-13 with romance, but rated R with combat gore/ epic finishers. I also like gross monsters, slime, and spooky stuff. Also, this is specifically a horror themed module and contains a lot of dark ideas and situations. I do not recommend this for the squeamish! Many of the content warnings below can be established as lines and veils in our session 0. I reserve the right to ask players to leave a game should they violate our established standards of conduct. One mandatory standard in my games, is that players work collaboratively. No lone wolves allowed. I'm very particular about this.
