About the adventure

Fifteen years ago, a meteor fell on the city of Drakkenheim. What was once a glittering capital is now a desolate ruin, choked by the Haze - a supernatural fog that warps flesh, breaks minds, and births monsters. At its heart pulses the crater, seeping a strange and terrible substance called delerium: the most powerful magical material in the world, and the most dangerous. Now the vultures are circling. Five factions have converged on the ruins, each convinced they alone know what must be done with delerium and the city itself - and each willing to fight, scheme, and sacrifice for it. You are adventurers drawn to Drakkenheim for your own reasons. What you do here will determine the fate of the city - and, perhaps, the world. Character creation

Creating your character

We'll be using the 2024 rules. The player-facing material from the Drakkenheim books (sub-classes and Apothecary class) will be allowed and available in Foundry. Official 2014 material will be considered on case-by-case basis. No other 3rd party content allowed. There will be a few bans like Silvery Barbs, the Lucky feat (see below in homebrew). Starting Level: Level 1. Stat Generation: You can decide individually if you want to do standard array, point buy or 4d6 drop lowest. Character Tone: Good-natured, heroic characters who work well in a group and want to do the right thing encouraged! If you use D&D Beyond, you can make your character there and I will be able to import your character from there to Foundry.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

We'll be using Foundry and Discord so you should be able to use both. (Please test before applying, or message me if you need help with this.) Also, using a headset or headphones+mic will be appreciated by everyone involved. Hearing everyone else echoing on a player's speakers is not fun! It's perfectly fine if you never played before, but if you don't own the D&D 5e rules skim them here: https://www.dndbeyond.com/sources/dnd/br-2024 When you join the campaign, I will provide you with some reading material about the campaign and the setting from the books.

What GM mega brings to the table

I'll set up a game on Foundry, provide a Discord server, provide a personal wiki for information and recaps and share the necessary materials. (I use a Discord bot to transcribe and create recaps for your convenience.) I own and will use the official Foundry VTT modules for this campaign.

Homebrew rules

Inspiration will be grouped into a single pool that every player can contribute and pull from. This character options are banned: Spells: Silvery Barbs, Conjure Minor Elementals 2024 Subclasses: Twilight Cleric, Peace Cleric, Chronurgy Wizard.

How GM mega creates a safe table

We'll do Session 0 and go over character creation, expectations and any topics we might want to avoid (or 'lines and veils' as some people call them). Then we'll start playing if there's time left. The campaign will feature some mature themes, like violence, death, body horror, scary monsters, natural disasters, politics, etc. Generally speaking, think in terms of "about as mature as Baldur's Gate 3". It is my hope that we can navigate all of these in a tasteful manner, without making anyone uncomfortable.
