About the adventure
Step into the colorless, misty world of Barovia, a land trapped inside a curse, the people disheartened and victims of a mourning lord. Explore an unforgiving cruelly twisted landscape filled with monsters, ghosts unable to pass on, one arch wizard suffering endlessly, three elder gods fighting for dominance, three cruelly oppressed cities, 11 haunted villages, and looking down upon all of it a dark brooding castle. What to Expect: Dark and Gothic Atmosphere: Venture into the eerie and foreboding land of Barovia, where every step draws you deeper into Strahd von Zarovich’s domain, and every shadow conceals a new menace. Immersive Storytelling: Your decisions will shape the fate of Barovia and its cursed inhabitants as you uncover haunting mysteries and unravel the sinister plots of the vampire lord. Intense Challenges: Face off against formidable monsters, survive harrowing encounters, and solve intricate mysteries as you strive to defy destiny - or succumb to it This isn’t a railroaded tour through Castle Ravenloft.. My version Of Curse of Strahd: Character-Driven Your backstories matter. Barovia adapts to you: your fears, your secrets, and your flaws. Horror That’s Not Just Gore This is psychological dread, oppressive mood, and choices with weight. But always within your safety limits — I use lines/veils, X-card, and active check-ins. Cinematic Storytelling Dramatic descriptions, and NPCs. Feel the mist. Hear the heartbeat. Smell the old blood. Challenging but Fair Combat Tactical, deadly, and rewarding — but always respecting player agency. I have added 3 new cities and 11 villages 2015 module into a longer more roleplay heavy and world exploration style game. This will include 100's of new NPC's a dozen new factions to engage with and several new cities to explore. Story Inspirations: This expanded version of the 2015 Curse of Strahd module takes inspiration from the Ravenloft books from the 1990's, Van Helsing, Bram Stroker's Dracula, Nosferatu, Blade, Underworld, and Interview with a vampire.

About me
Hello thank you for checking my profile. If your reading this you might be asking why this Dm and these games. I have 20 years of D&D experience and 13 years of DMing experience. I know how to enchant and kindle the imagination of players. Games are designed around the players' playing styles. During the first session, we will have a discussion as a group and determine what the expectations are for roleplay frequency, combat frequency, and play style, so by the 2nd session, everything will be tailored to the group's wants. I strive to ensure each player feels heard and has a genuine impact on the unfolding narrative. Whether you live for intense role-play, thrilling battles, or creative problem-solving, you’ll find a warm, open environment where you can shine.

How Mr. Hughes creates a safe table
During our first session while we are making characters we will be having a discussion about player and DM lines and veils, and discussing any triggers that need to be avoided and we will be using messaged X, N & O's. We will will have 15 minutes at the end of the session we will have a debrief, that should be a conversation about wishes, Star, dislikes, and likes.
