About the adventure

This is the first adventure released by Paizo for the Starfinder 2e system. There are pop-culture, horror, and exploration as major themes, as you'll be uncovering artifacts long lost to the galaxy. Since it's a first-level adventure, this is appropriate for new players! It's a new system and everyone will be learning. If you have experience with Pathfinder second edition the whole thing will feel like second nature. I *love* the Starfinder setting because it's played up to be very campy and cheesy and I'm hoping to push a little satire and levity into what might otherwise be a quite serious setting!

About me

I'm Ryan and I love running Pathfinder 2e! I came on over from DnD 5th edition and have been running 1 to 4 games a week for about 4 years now. My style tends towards cinematic, fast-paced combat with a lot of humor. I love doing ridiculous voices for my NPCs and letting players get away "rule of cool" shenanigans. I've got an active Discord community posting about Pathfinder, video games and the like. Come on by and join a table! All tables are of course queer-friendly and we have a friendly Discord community for folks trying to wrap their heads around Pathfinder 2e.

Character creation

Creating your character

We should talk a bit about desired classes before session 0 in the Discord. Session 0 will have everyone coming together and making sure we have skill coverage and the like in place. Classes and ancestries are wide open for this one. If you want to play a PF2e class in this setting it's something we can talk about! Starfinder is pulling a lot of archetypes and other material from Pathfinder, so getting a class alongside is perfectly reasonable.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

They'll need Discord and Foundry Forge accounts, both of which are free. You can join my Discord server and I'll put you in the campaign-specific private channel (there are a lot of public channels to chat in as well)

What Ryan brings to the table

Scene-setting sound and music! Intense combat scaled to the party! A friendly Discord server with very knowledgeable players! Stupid jokes and pop culture references guaranteed to make you groan! Way too much knowledge about these systems after running 2-5 PF2e games a week for the last 3 years! It's gonna be fun.

Homebrew rules

Free Archetype, Gradual Ability Boost, some ease-of-use rules around healing (Continual Recovery is the way that Treat Wounds works by default, increasing proficiency gives the effects of Ward Medic so you heal two people at a time at Expert, everyone has the effects of the Pearly White Spindle Aeon Stone, recovering 1 HP/minute while out of combat). Background lores scale as with Additional Lore. 3rd party content is possible! Team+ content is blanket approved until proven disruptive but so far they've been fine.

Safety

How Ryan creates a safe table

X-card app in foundry that send an anonymous X to end the scene. Session 0 will cover any sensitive topics as well as a few lines and veils I have. This campaign will be a sort of pulpy space-swashbuckling affair so I don't expect too much in the way of challenging content.
