About the adventure

Welcome to Station 9-Delta. The air is recycled, the neon is flickering, and the gravity is failing. Orbiting a collapsing star that has begun to tear the fabric of space-time, Station 9-Delta is a rusted, lawless cage. The Vanguard Corporation has locked the system down under the "Iron Shroud": a lethal military blockade that ensures nothing gets in and no one gets out. They claim it is a quarantine to contain the "Temporal Glitches" warping reality on the station, but in the slums of the Neon-Gut, you know the truth. You are being left to die while the Corps harvest the star’s dying screams. You are the Disposables: scavengers and mercs living on borrowed time and recycled oxygen, just trying to keep your scrap-heap of a ship flying for one more day. This is a Level 1 to 20 "Zero-to-Hero" campaign designed for players who love high-stakes storytelling and tactical sci-fi. We aren't just playing a game; we are building an epic. You will start as street-level survivors deep in debt to local scrap-lords, but as you uncover the mystery of the Chronal Core, you will evolve into legendary pilots and reality-warping heroes. This campaign features a heavy emphasis on Starship Combat, where your vessel isn't just a vehicle: it is a home that grows and levels up alongside you. Expect a blend of gritty cyberpunk investigation, high-octane dogfights in debris fields, and cosmic horror as the "Glitches" begin to manifest in terrifying ways. How We Play: As your Game Master, I prioritize immersion and cinematic "Rule of Cool" moments supported by the tactical depth of the Starfinder 2e system. We use Foundry VTT to its full potential, featuring high-quality maps, atmospheric lighting, and automation that keeps the math out of the way so we can focus on the drama. I run a "living world" where your choices have permanent consequences. Factions will remember your betrayals, and your ship will bear the scars of every blockade you run. Who is this for? Whether you are a veteran of the Pact Worlds or a newcomer curious about the new Starfinder 2e engine, there is a seat for you at this table. If you enjoy "misfits-against-the-world" stories like Andor, The Expanse, or Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, and you are looking for a long-term group to journey with from the gutter to the stars, then Station 9-Delta is calling.

About me

I’m Amon (James) 40, lifelong TTRPG tragic, and usually the one running the show from behind the screen. I’m here for character-driven chaos, clutch rolls, and campaigns where choices have teeth. Expect story that reacts to you, action that feels cinematic, and a table that knows how to laugh without losing the tension.I’ve played and GMed across D&D (3.5 to 5e/2024), Pathfinder, Vampire: The Masquerade, Starfinder, Spelljammer, and more. If you like games that are immersive, purposeful, and built around the party, you’ll fit right in.

Character creation

Creating your character

The Two-Character System In this campaign, every player will create two characters. The Primary: This is your main hero, the one who will journey from Level 1 to 20. The Backup/Associate: This is a secondary character who lives on the station or aboard your ship. They serve as a narrative backup in case of a "lethal glitch" and can be swapped in for specific missions where their skills might shine. The Process Character creation will happen before Session 1. Once you join the game, you will be invited to our Discord and given access to the Foundry VTT server. I ask that you have your Primary character drafted 48 hours before our first scheduled game so I can weave your backstories into the opening "Job Board." Technical Specs Starting Level: 1. Ancestries & Classes: All options from the Starfinder 2e Playtest and Starfinder 2e Core materials are welcome. Since SF2e is built on the Pathfinder 2e engine, certain PF2e ancestries may be allowed with prior approval if they fit the "gritty sci-fi" vibe. Ability Scores: We will use the standard Attribute Boost system (no rolling for stats). This ensures a balanced party for the tactical challenges ahead. Alignment/Edicts: We are playing a "Gritty" campaign. While you don't have to be a saint, your characters must have a reason to work together and a shared desire to survive the blockade. Where to Build Foundry VTT: I have the Starfinder 2e system fully integrated. You will build your character directly in the VTT. Pathbuilder 2e: If you prefer using Pathbuilder for your drafts, you can export your JSON file directly into Foundry to save time. Resources Please refer to the Starfinder 2e Playtest Rulebook. If you are new to the system, don't worry! I will provide "Cheat Sheets" for tactical combat and starship roles. We will spend the first 30 minutes of Session 1 doing a "Tech Check" to ensure everyone's tokens and macros are working perfectly.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

To ensure we can hit the ground running on Station 9-Delta, please complete the following steps before our Session 0. 1. Join the Discord Server Our primary hub for communication, world-building, and scheduling is our private Discord server. Once you have joined the game on StartPlaying, you will receive an automated message with the invite link. Please join as soon as possible and introduce yourself in the #arrivals channel. 2. Create a Foundry VTT Account We will be using Foundry VTT for our maps, character sheets, and tactical combat. No Purchase Necessary: You do not need to buy a Foundry license to play. Account Setup: Please ensure you have a stable internet connection and a modern web browser (Chrome or Firefox are recommended). Connection Link: The specific URL for our game world will be provided in the Discord server. 3. Review the Starfinder 2e Playtest Rules Since we are using the newest iteration of the Starfinder engine, please familiarize yourself with the basic rules of play. The Rulebook: You can find the Starfinder 2e Playtest PDF for free on the Paizo website. Cheat Sheets: I will provide a condensed "Quick Start" guide in Discord that covers the most important changes from the first edition, specifically regarding the three-action economy and starship roles. 4. Hardware and Software Requirements Audio: A high-quality microphone is required. We will use Discord for voice chat during sessions. Video: Camera use is optional and will be decided by the group during Session 0. No Downloads Needed: Foundry VTT runs directly in your browser, so there is no need to install heavy software. However, please ensure your browser hardware acceleration is turned on for the best experience. 5. Character Concepts Come to Session 0 with at least two rough concepts for your characters. You do not need to have a finished sheet, but think about how your Primary and Backup characters might fit into a gritty, cyberpunk setting. Consider their "Debt": why do they owe Mama Ozu, and what are they willing to do to pay it off?

What Amon brings to the table

My GM Style: Cinematic Grit I am a GM who favors the Rule of Cool while respecting the tactical depth of the system. I want you to try daring stunts, use the environment to your advantage, and make choices that feel epic. Character Voices: I provide distinct voices and personalities for every major NPC, from the gravelly bark of Mama Ozu to the cold, synthesized logic of Vanguard executives. Tactical Depth: While I love drama, I also enjoy the "crunch" of tactical combat. Expect challenging encounters where positioning, teamwork, and clever use of your ship’s systems are the keys to survival. A Living World: The choices you make in the Neon-Gut will ripple outward. If you save a local merchant, they might become a vital ally later. If you betray a gang, they will hunt you across the debris fields. Everything You Need to Play I believe that the only thing a player should bring to the table is their imagination. I provide all the necessary resources to run a high-level Starfinder 2e campaign: The Full Library: You will have access to all Starfinder 2e Playtest and Core books through my shared digital library. You do not need to purchase any rulebooks to participate. Premium Foundry VTT: Our game is hosted on a high-performance Foundry VTT server. It is pre-loaded with high-definition maps, atmospheric lighting, and automated systems that make the tactical combat of Starfinder 2e feel smooth and cinematic. Immersive Soundscapes: I utilize professional ambient music and sound effects to bring Station 9-Delta to life. From the low hum of the station’s life support to the frantic alarms of a ship-to-ship dogfight, the audio will pull you directly into the scene. The Final Touch: Immortalizing Your Hero As a final "cherry on top" for our journey together, I provide a unique way to commemorate your character. Once we have established your hero's legend, I will work with you to design and manufacture a Custom Miniature of your character. It is a physical token of the story we have built together: a way to immortalize your hero long after the star has collapsed.

Safety

How Amon creates a safe table

While the world of Station 9-Delta is dark and dangerous, my table is a supportive and inclusive space for all players. Safety begins before the first dice are rolled. During our Session 0, we will have a dedicated discussion about the campaign's tone and content. We will establish our group's collective boundaries and ensure that everyone is comfortable with the "Gritty" and "Horror" elements of the story. This is a collaborative process where your comfort is the priority. We utilize a suite of digital safety tools integrated directly into our Discord and Foundry VTT environment: Lines and Veils: Before the campaign begins, I will provide a digital document where players can anonymously list "Lines" (topics that will not appear in the game) and "Veils" (topics that will be "faded to black"). This document is a living resource and can be updated at any time. Digital X, N, and O Cards: We use a digital implementation of the X-Card (Stop), N-Card (Not feeling this/Slow down), and O-Card (Keep going). These can be triggered at any time during play through a private message to the GM or a dedicated button in Foundry. If an X-Card is used, we will pause, edit the scene, and move forward without question or judgment. Open Door Policy: You are always welcome to step away from the table for a break if a scene becomes too intense. No explanation is needed.
