Creating your character

Character creation can happen during the session 0, or before session start. Preparing for the session

Discord, Foundry, and a microphone are all required. You do not need to know the rules inside and out to play, however if you are completely unfamiliar with the setting, terminology (stats/skills/roles) I would strongly recommend reading the CPR:CRB EMK or the Cyberpunk Neon shorthand player handbook on your own time between sessions, be ready to ask questions regarding things that confuse you.. Be prepared to take notes, and roleplay your character atleast lightly. I will be taking notes of your characters worst tendencies and habits that repeat over the course of multiple sessions to build their cyberpsycho profile.

What Asher brings to the table

Combats are going to be a test of your kit, game knowledge, and your characters general street smarts. Not every battle is meant to be won. Not every fight is fair. A serial killer may decide you're easy pray, do you keep it to yourself and try to save face? Or do you ask your crew for help at the expense of your image. A gang of 20 scavs may look at your chrome and decide it's worth the risk, can you hold up? Socially, cyberpunk is very much about hierarchy and dismantling it or establishing a new one. NPC's may bully you, shit test you, or straight up try to steal your girl. Give em a reason to respect your character or don't the choice is yours. In combat no one gets to monologue, you've got 3 seconds to get words out, wanna use your action trying to deescalate go for it. My general policy is no gaming table is better than a bad gaming table, I hope we can all be curt and courteous about such matters.

How Asher creates a safe table

You can expect a one to one with yours truly to discuss your lines and veils, discern whether the game is for you before payment, and even if it doesn't work out your presence will remain welcome within the discord server. We use a color system safe word for safety during play Red being a hard limit has been crossed or discovered during play, yellow requesting the crew slow down or fade to black before the scene escalates and green letting the crew know that the scene despite its discomfort is okay to continue. At any given time these safe words can be used verbally or text in the VTT. Despite the grimdark nature of the games there are some elements I simply won't allow at the table. Furthermore although sexual predators occasionally take the spotlight as villains, SA of any kind is avoided at the table and at its absolute worst is only implied against NPCs, otherwise I've no tolerance for the topic at the table being portrayed against fellow players or even implied PC to NPC interactions. PvP is available should there be narrative in character reasons for it. All parties should be aware of the threat of PvP how their actions could provoke it and a single warning out of character and in character is required before we roll initiative. Furthermore as a host I reserve the right to veto PvP if it's inappropriate. If a character is not actively poking the bear and PvP is still on the table the person who is not aggressive can veto the scenario on their own. Player agency is trumped by player comfort. Though play by post is available for those who desire it out of scheduled sessions it's highly recommended to take breaks as needed, share or memes take the time to step back and self care after the games etc. I am willing to take time post session to discuss icky feelings should they arise.
