About the adventure
Welcome to Barovia, a land swallowed by mist and ruled by fear. In this “Learn to Play” one-shot inspired by Curse of Strahd, you’ll step into the shoes of ordinary villagers struggling to survive a single night against the horrors that stalk the dark. This session is designed for new players who want to experience the gothic world of Dungeons & Dragons without needing prior knowledge or long-term commitment. I’ll teach you the core rules as we play, from rolling dice to making choices that shape your fate. Expect a tense, atmospheric game focused on survival, storytelling, and decision-making rather than heavy combat. Every candle, every creak in the wood, and every whisper in the fog could mean the difference between life and death. If you’ve ever wanted to step into Curse of Strahd and feel what it’s like to live in Barovia, just for one terrifying night, this is your chance. Your characters will be level 3 for this game!

About me
My name is Thomaz, i'm from Brazil and DMing is my full time job! The first time i played D&D was back when i had 12, it was 3.5e. I had no ideia what i was doing but i felt in love with this game. My favorite edition by far is 5e, its so easy to learn! I have a large selection of campaigns i can DM for any party, going from light-hearted to dark fantasy. If i dont know it yet i can quickly get a it ready if the party wants! I also have a degree in languages (Portuguese-English), back in the day my goal was to teach native English speakers to learn Portuguese. I don't plain to be a tutor anymore, but i think i can still have that goal with D&D, helping my players learning while they play! My main goal is show the amazing world of RPG and help them to learm it! I have a game every single day of the week, morning and evening!

What to expect
Preparing for the session
All players will need to connect to discord and FoundryVTT, for that both links will be provided. I also recommend building your character on D&D beyond. Have at least a good mic, webcam is only necessary if you feel comfortable using it. The players don't need to be D&D rulers experts but i strongly encourage them to learn about the own class.
What Thomaz Eblen brings to the table
Be a Dungeon Master is my full time job, i take it really seriously. I have more than 10 years of experience been a DM, and for this adventure alone i had more than 10 groups playing it. With Foundry VTT theres all sort of animated spells, battlemaps and so on to better enhance the immersion! I have a vast shareble content pool on dnd beyond that any of my players can use!

How Thomaz Eblen creates a safe table
All my games are very familify friendly i tend to only accept players which are respectful towards eachother to built a nice environment so every one feels confortable and look foward to the next week. As soon you join the game we go trought discord and talk about your expecatitions for the game, i help with you character creation. I normaly have a 10min break at the half mark of the session, and if you need to talk anything during the game in particular you can send me a private mensage at discord, anything you dislike from the game im open to change and make it a better experience, you can always talk with me after the game. Im very openminded to homebrew and rule of cool and i do not allow PVP, unless both players want it for some reason.
