About the adventure

In modern-day New York City, a group of novice monster hunters is assembled with hopes of protecting innocent people from the supernatural. This city never sleeps, and apparently, neither do the nasty creatures that live in it. From ghosts to cryptids to everything else that goes bump in the night, you and your party will be responsible for tracking down and taking out all sorts of nasty things. During the first session, everyone will make their characters, decide how and if anyone knows one another, and we'll begin our first mystery!

Character creation

Creating your character

We will create our characters during session one, but you're free to look through the sourcebook and start thinking of ideas ahead of time!

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Check out the handbooks for Monster of the Week, which are free to download from the Evil Hat website. https://evilhat.com/product/monster-of-the-week/ We will be meeting via Discord, so make sure you have an account set up prior to the first session. You will also need a microphone.

What Julie brings to the table

I use music and sound effects in game pretty sparingly, and I definitely prefer Rule of Cool. I encourage roleplay at my tables whenever possible.

Safety

How Julie creates a safe table

Prior to session 1, I'll have everyone fill out a consent checklist. When we meet for the first time, we'll go over those answers anonymously. During sessions, if something happens that makes you uncomfortable or upset, you can message me privately and I'll discreetly put a stop to it. We'll take a short break, where you can tell me more if you feel so inclined.
