About the adventure
This is a Monster of the Week game about a travelling band of hunters rolling into places just as something has gone very, very wrong. One week it’s a shuttered seaside town where the fog doesn’t lift, the next it’s a motorway services that everyone forgets once they leave. The setting is modern-day , grounded and recognisable, but always one step sideways from the everyday. If there’s a map, it’s got coffee stains on it. If there’s a monster, someone ignored the warning signs weeks ago. The tone sits somewhere between eerie folklore, roadside horror and found-family drama. Think late-night radio voices, local legends that refuse to stay buried and ordinary people caught in extraordinary messes. Monsters aren’t just things to kill; they’re problems to understand, contain or sometimes let go. The hunters are competent but human, carrying scars, secrets and reasons for staying on the road. The journey matters just as much as the destination. In terms of play style, this game leans into character-first storytelling. We’ll focus on investigation, tough choices and consequences that stick, with punchy, cinematic action when things kick off. Combat is fast and dangerous rather than tactical grind, and the “right” solution is rarely obvious. I embrace the Rule of Cool, but the world reacts honestly to what you do — clever plans get rewarded, reckless ones leave marks. This game is for players who enjoy atmosphere, collaboration and letting their characters breathe. You don’t need deep system mastery, just a willingness to lean into the fiction, share the spotlight and help build a strange, haunted version of the world together. If you like monsters with motives, mysteries with teeth and long drives under flickering streetlights, you’ll feel right at ho

About me
My name’s Bird, though at the table I’m best known as Thee Silvery Bard—a playful nod to the 5e spell Silvery Barbs. The name embodies my style: bold, imaginative, and guided by the Rule of Cool. My mission is simple: to create unforgettable, collaborative stories where every player shines. Performance has been in my blood since childhood. I’ve worked as a musician, a stand-up comic, and a teacher—but nothing has been as fulfilling as stepping into the role of Game Master. Over the years, I’ve performed for the BBC in the UK and NBC in America, earned awards, and produced shows that left audiences captivated. Whether it’s celebrating the 50th Anniversary of Dungeons & Dragons or exploring a hidden indie gem unearthed from the shelves of London’s legendary Orc’s Nest, I bring the same promise: a gaming experience that is brilliantly creative, deeply kind, and endlessly entertaining.
