About the adventure

The tomb of an ancient hero, lost in the tangled depths of the woods. A ring of standing stones, guarded by the sinister Drune cult. A fairy princess who watches with ageless patience from beyond the veil of the mortal. A forgotten treasure that holds the key to her heart. Winter's Daughter is a romantic fairytale dungeon adventure for characters of 1st to 3rd level. It is known as the introductory adventure to both the Old School Essentials TTRPG and the setting of Dolmenwood. Old School Essentials is a role-playing game of fantastic adventure, where players work together to overcome fearsome monsters, sinister plots, and deadly traps in search of wealth, power, and glory. It is an "OSR", old-school role-playing game, styled after the beloved games of the 1970s and 1980s in which the rules are kept relatively light and simple in order to let imagination and action take the spotlight. In this adventure you and a group of other rookie adventurers will trek out into the wilderness of the Dolmenwood, an ancient forest with a strong connection to the world of the fey. You will find traces of the mysterious and sulking Drune tribes outside of the burial mound of the knight who supposedly killed the conquering Frost Prince nine centuries ago. Will you find ancient relics and riches? Or will the secrets of the mound be too much for your mortal soul to handle?

About me

Hey There! I’m the Lettuce Lord, herald of freshness. But you can just call me Lettuce. I got started with the wonderful world of ttrpgs back during the quarantine, when almost everyone needed a way to escape their homes even if just for a couple of hours. At first this escapism was also my main reason for playing, but now that those times are gone I have a different reason to keep playing. Through the years playing ttrpgs has allowed me to meet new people in a neutral ground and interact with each other with themes we are familiar with and we are all interested in. You know, as a nerd and an introvert socializing is like walking on sharpened Legos whilst trying to balance your grandma's good ceramics. But through this world I have met more people that ever. Incredibly interesting people with deep personalities which for once I could actually relate to. For once I actually could and wanted to socialize, interact and meet new people. To me the magic of ttrpgs is to be able to get together with a group of slightly weird people, play pretend wizards for an evening and be weirder together while we create a story no one person or machine could ever recreate

Character creation

Creating your character

If players are familiar with the system they may create their own lv1 characters, sticking to the base Advanced Fantasy Player's Tome. Otherwise, premade character sheets will be provided.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Discord and Roll20 are required. I would suggest to get somewhat familiar with the term OSR and how games of this style work.

What Lettuce Lord brings to the table

I will provide a Discord Server for communication during the session and a roll20 server to use for the character sheets and maps.
