About the adventure
Set in a pike and shot setting that means to ape the Germany of the 30 Years War, the party will start play as the little guy in a region overwhelming with injustice and chaos. As you complete quests and secure riches, your party will be in a position to face more and more relevant and important challenges covering the fate of the region. The party's reputation will be entirely decided by the actions and choices the party makes as it is given quests and challenges. This means that being callous mercenaries fighting for the highest bidder will present and entirely different set of challenges to being a great hero or vile villain. Pike and shot in the setting refers to the period of history where late medieval infantry formations included both traditional melee weaponry as well as early adoption of firearm technology. In the context of a fantasy setting this means that the intent is less dirt farmers and Arthurian knights and more musketeers.

About me
I have been playing tabletop RPGs for over a decade, and running the games I’ve played for nearly as long. I was introduced to gaming working at a ren faire as street cast, and the connection between the two has always been a part of my gaming. What that means is that I try to run games as a collaborative storytelling experience, working with the players to build a character driven narrative using my decade of improv experience. The result of this is a game and a story that is reactive to player actions. And despite my kind of auteur and philosophical approach, my instincts are sort of pure comedy and b-movie. I look to create entertaining setpieces and offer wild characters and story beats. Because in the end, I am just trying to have fun.

Creating your character
Character creation can be preloaded, but session 0 will consist of getting everything together and shaken out with the VTT and the character sheets and expectations. Session 0 will also allow for character creation assistance.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Game will be organized and run through Discord for the voice call and the schedule. We will be using Roll20 as the source for the virtual tabletop, so players will need to have an account there so we can play it.
What karmicknight brings to the table
I provide a comedic tone attached to a reactive work. We will engage with tactical combat in a virtual table top while also engaging with late medieval political concepts and as much intrigue as the players are interested in. I will base adventures within the campaign around set pieces, be it dungeon or whodunit plot, building towards a major obstacle to overcome.

How karmicknight creates a safe table
Session 0 will include coverage of lines and veils as well as the various other tools to be used (Red and Yellow Cards, bio and otherwise breaks, the RPG consent checklist). My natural tone is also pretty light in general.
