About the adventure
The game takes place in Ophio, a fictional country, in 1920s post-War Europe. The players have been sent as a diplomatic envoy to the country to gather resources and aid as the country seems largely unaffected by the ravages of the Great War. There they will meet a prince and a queen. They will be welcomed with opened arms. But are they really as hospitable as they appear? Something lurks beneath the surface, a beast swimming underneath blackened waters. How is it that they managed to survive, even thrive, through a war that decimated its sister countries and stripped even more countries of its resources and lives? Uncover the mystery of Ophio, its prince, and its queen in this Call of Cthulhu adventure!

About me
Howdy! I'm Wes (they/them), if you are looking for new home-brew obsessed GM, I'm your guy! I've been GM-ing for almost four years now. I started with DnD and then moved to Call of Cthulhu and Vampire the Masquerade. I frequently run one-shots with indie systems for my friends as a way to introduce them to the world of TTRPGs. I really enjoy home brewing and creating rich, complex worlds for my players to get lost in! My table is open to everyone! New players and veterans alike!

Creating your character
Players will be expected to come to Session 0 with 2-3 character concepts. Stat rolling and character sheet filling out will be done during Session 0. Players should feel free to look through the Call of Cthulhu 7th edition rule book for inspiration and to familiarize themselves with the system. Resources will be sent out before Session 0 in any case.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Players should make sure they have a Discord and Roll20 account. All communication and sessions will be happening over Discord. The server link will be sent once players sign up. Maps and combat will happen over Roll20.
What Wes brings to the table
I use a lot of character voices and theatre of the mind. When possible, I try to send players reference images of whatever I'm describing because I understand some people are more visual. I always try to describe the setting and NPCs as richly as possible so my players feel immersed. Additionally, I will use ambient music to set the tone for the session. I also enjoy sending a song that I feel represents what I was aiming for that session. I'm a big fan of Rule of Cool and am an RP-heavy GM. My main focus will always be rich stories, environments, and compelling characters!

Safety
How Wes creates a safe table
All players will be sent a consent form before Session 0 that will only be seen by myself. In addition, during Session 0 we will go over the main safety tool being used which is the Traffic Light system. If I think a session is too intense or people are getting uncomfortable I will do a verbal or written check-in with players. Players can ask for a break at anytime.
