About the adventure

Los Angeles, 2037. The newest version of replicants, the Nexus-9 has began to integrate into every aspect of society including law enforcement. Two Nexus-9 Blade Runners went downtown to investigate rumors of illegal Replicants, Nexus-8, activity. One was shot dead, and one is missing. The Wallace corporation, and the higher ups at the LAPD are demanding that this gets solved, quickly and quietly. It's up to you to solve this case, before someone else turns up dead. This is the first case file for the Blade Runner RPG meant to introduce new players to the role of being a Blade Runner. You and other players will work together and solve this mystery mystery that takes place between the original Blade Runner movie and Blade Runner 2049. During the investigation, you'll be exposed to: -fast Sci-Fi action, character drama as you chase suspects through the streets; -character drama as your character deals with the life of a blade runner; -corporate intrigue as the Wallace Corporation breathes down your neck to make sure this doesn't negatively impact business; -moral conflict as you struggle to decide what's right and what's wrong on the streets full of grey; -soul searching as you and your character ask the timeless question: What does it mean to be human?

About me

I'm a theater kid with a big gaming nerd streak and a love for sci-fi. I love really getting to know people and I think gaming is one of the best ways to do that. I love making people feel at-ease and welcome and always try to make others laugh. I like to collaborate with my players so that they have a fun and have an experience that they will remember. I like immersing players with custom music, visuals, and descriptions that make the world feel real. I work really hard to make sure that my everyone has a fun time and leaves excited to play again.

Character creation

Creating your character

Depending on what the group decides we will either use pre-generated characters or we will build characters during the first session. You do not need to prepare prior to the 1st session.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

1) Go to The Forge (https://forge-vtt.com/) and sign up for a free account. The Forge is a hosting service for my Foundry VTT server. 2) You'll need to join my discord server so we can talk and you can look through the pre-generated characters and get ready for our first session. 3) You will need a microphone AND a webcam. It's hard enough to engage with others while playing online. Having your webcam on helps not only me see how you're reacting to the game, but helps others also engage with you.

What Gus brings to the table

1) Curated music 2) Unique NPCs with different voices 3) Custom made maps and visuals 4) An introductory case file that is meant to introduce players to the RPG 5) Moments of tension and drama with some good laughs in between I cater to what the players want to do, within the game of course, but try to make sure that everyone has fun. I want to make sure everyone has a chance to shine and tell the story of your character the way you want.

Safety

How Gus creates a safe table

Before the game we will use the Deck of Player Safety to identify content that you do not want. During the game we'll use integrated tools within foundry using X, N, & O cards. We'll also take a break half-way through and at player's request in case you need to step back for a minute. After the game I'll be around for a debriefing to talk about the game and help process
