About the adventure

Age of Ashes is a sweeping Pathfinder Second Edition campaign about rising from local heroes to legends who shape the fate of a world. It begins in a quiet frontier town, where a simple call for help draws the characters together. What starts as a matter of local concern soon opens into a journey across distant lands, ancient strongholds, and forgotten histories. Step by step, the scope widens, revealing threats that connect far beyond a single place and time. The story rewards curiosity, courage, and the willingness to take responsibility for more than just personal glory. This campaign spans the full heroic arc from level 1 to level 20, allowing characters to grow naturally from inexperienced adventurers into world-class heroes. Along the way, players experience a rich mix of classic fantasy elements: dangerous dungeons, political intrigue, exploration of varied regions, meaningful downtime, and the chance to build lasting ties to people and places that matter. The tone balances epic stakes with grounded moments, making victories feel earned and losses meaningful. Age of Ashes is especially well suited for both beginners and veterans. New players benefit from a clear structure, strong motivations, and encounters that teach the game organically as the campaign unfolds. Experienced players will appreciate the long-term narrative payoff, tactical depth, and opportunities to shape the world through their choices rather than following a single narrow path. If you are looking for a complete Pathfinder experience that showcases everything the system does well, from humble beginnings to truly epic conclusions, this campaign offers a memorable journey that grows with the characters every step of the way.

About me

Hi! I’m Kalle (or Aeon —both work). I’ve been telling stories at the table for close to 30 years, building worlds full of strange wonders, messy heroes, and just the right amount of chaos. Whether we’re exploring dark and moody city streets, laughing through a heist gone wrong, or chasing wild character arcs, I’m here for it. I love helping players make their big ideas sing—whether it’s crafting tangled backstories, scheming clever plans, or simply vibing in the world we create together. My games are inclusive, player-focused spaces where everyone gets a moment to shine.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

For my games you will need a discord account and desktop app (using the browser version of discord is not very stable), a relatively decent microphone and headphones (using speakers usually generates echo). There is no account required for my foundry server. Access to the foundry server's game is generated by me. If you are a beginner to Pathfinder 2E and/or Foundry: I'm more than happy to give you a tour to both, explain everything and if necessary give you recommended reading during session zero, so you can start into your first real session with a good feeling.

Safety

How Aeon / Kalle creates a safe table

Safe Place I consider my games to be a safe space to have fun in, away from the troubles of everyday life. As such i have a zero-tolerance policy towards the discussion of politics, harrasment, racism and anything against gender identity and LGTBQ+ culture. Everyone is welcome at my table as long as they respect everyone else at the table. It is that simple! Session Zero, Lines, Veils and Limits All my games launch with a Session Zero before they actually take off. In the Session Zero we discuss as a group what we want for the campaign (Alignment and goals of the group, powerlevels etc), then we discuss and set lines and veils as well as limits for each player indivially. Everything will be compiled in a document by me. If a player joins us at a later date, we will have the Session Zero on a one-to-one basis, where i will inform them about the current state of the document and if they would like to add to it. At the next session i will then inform all players about any changes to the Lines, Veils and Limits document. X, N and O Cards If anything gets triggered a player can usually just pipe up in voice chat, but many elect to put it into chat to not disrupt the flow. This usually takes the form of keywords such as red, orange and green. Stars and Whishes I do occasional rounds of stars and wishes at the end of my sessions. But my door is always open for critique and I handle it very professionally. Never feel bad about communicating your wishes and critique to me. If you have issues with another player or their playstyle, please just contact me. I believe that most issues can be resolved just with communication. Breaks I have one scheduled break in the middle of the game, usually 5-10 minutes long. If a player needs a break, they can just pipe up in voice or chat and does not need to feel bad about it. RL happens to all of us! However the game usually continues (The others after all also paid for the game and want their money's worth out of a session!)
