About the adventure

"Ray is superb with new players. He takes the time to demonstrate the rules and offers pertinent examples in a clear, patient fashion." Jarad "You’re not playing HIS adventure. He is running YOUR adventure." Jeremiah "GM was phenomenal. He was very patient and kind when explaining things in our Learn to Play. He was very engaging and made the game a blast. A+!" Crazy Cat Lady of Doom What starts with disappearances becomes much more sinister as the heroes of our tale look to the Underdark for answers. Will the light they bring to the deepest darkness shine bright enough to guide the lost to safety? Play to find out! Nimble was designed to help speed up D&D, while at the same time giving players interesting characters and tactical play. If you love D&D, but have ever wished that combat was faster and more engaging you should definitely play Nimble! Check out this video to learn more- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oSHpiDVtLpA Our game will focus on the exciting bits of play. Will we have a scene around a wilderness campsite, our heroes recovering from a day of battling the forces of evil? Sure! But only if we can use it to learn more about the characters and their relationships. I have many techniques that we can use to have more developed and interesting characters than you may have had in the past. Check out my reviews to learn more! This 1st-14th level campaign will have a few differences from many others that you may have played. Or maybe, (if you are a dinosaur like me) more similarities than you get in your current games. About me

Hello there! I'm a father of two boys, a husband that my amazing wife puts up with (does anyone really want to have a 2+ hour conversation about one specific performance art bit?) and a former elementary educator. I've been playing and running TTRPG's and LARPS for over 40 years and I certainly know this- If you want an action oriented game, heavy on character and sprinkled with absurdist moments, I am absolutely the right GM for you! I want my games to play like really rad TV shows. New players are great. Old players are great. Middle-aged players are expected. I don't believe that babies have the skill set to RP, but they sure are cute. Game on!

Character creation

Creating your character

Pre-generated characters will be available for players who prefer them. If you are interested in creating a character for this campaign, we'll get together ahead of time to work out how to make a character in Nimble. Starting characters are easy to build. The game does a GREAT job of having character complexity increase as the heroes level up.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Required- DISCORD and Roll20 Player Account(both free) Audio (video encouraged but optional) Lap or Desktop You do not need to know how to play Nimble (or roleplaying games at all). I have years of experience teaching people how to play games, as well as 15 years as a classroom teacher.

What GM Ray Nagle brings to the table

I will keep our DISCORD server populated with our cast of characters, maps and pictures.

How GM Ray Nagle creates a safe table

We will use debriefing to fine tune our play to match the session-0 and lines/veils expectations. My goal is to run things aimed at a PG-13 level, but can adjust based on group preference. Lets talk about what makes this campaign awesome besides you! Old-School Fantasy Feel- We're going back in time on this one. Before Dragonborn and Tieflings. Even before Warlocks and Artificers. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE a game full of endless options and oddball characters (Eberron is my favorite setting). With this game we'll all get to enjoy the benefits of creative constraint. Think a human rogue is boring? I bet that you can make one AWESOME. House Rules (Shamelessly Stolen)- There are so many games out there, and I've played an absolute ton of them. I will bring in the "best of the best" in mechanics to help our game play faster, smoother and more story focused. Escalation dice anyone?
