About the adventure
I am a happy "forever GM" for L5R and this is my third time GMing Legend of the Five Rings: Sins of Regret, a narrative-driven adventure that explores the emotional and spiritual cost of past actions in the Emerald Empire. Set within Rokugan’s rigid social structure, the story draws characters into a mystery shaped by guilt, shame, and unresolved obligations. What begins as a seemingly contained situation soon reveals deeper consequences tied to broken oaths, hidden truths, and the influence of the spirit world. This is a short campaign, suitable for both beginners and veterans, where players take on the roles of samurai or ronin trying to help a small village facing choices that could lead to its survival, or its destruction. Sins of Regret is ideal for players who enjoy thoughtful storytelling, emotional stakes, and stories with no perfect solutions...only difficult decisions and the weight they leave behind.

About me
Hi, I am Pedro Oliveira, I have studied game development and Film Production, I love to write, travel and playing games of all kinds, but with a particular love for RPGs. I have been playing RPGs since I was 10 years old when my older brother invited to participate in one of his games, I fell in love quickly with RPGs and never stopped playing them. I am very creative and energized, so I always ended up in the GM seat, building worlds and stoires is always a great pleasure for me. My friends and players often describe me as a diplomatic and thoughtful GM who prioritizes everyone’s enjoyment at the table. I’m a good listener, and I care about creating a welcoming, fun, and engaging experience for all my players. I lived in Dublin for three years, studying Film Production and English, and there as well managed to find a RPG group to continue my hobby.

Creating your character
Before the first session, I will send you the background of the adventure to help inspire ideas for your character. During the free Session Zero, we will then create your character together using the 20 Questions method. I will guide you through twenty questions about your character, and by the end of the process, you will have a fully developed character ready to play.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
It would be nice for you to read the Families and Clans in the Core Rulebook, if you don't have it, I can lend you mine. Besides this, a discord account is necessary, as I will use discord and Foundry VTT.
What Pedro Oliveira brings to the table
There will be beautiful maps, character artwork, music and character voices to immerse you in the story. I embrace the rule of cool if it makes sense for the scene. There will be combat and a lot of roleplay (which in L5R can sometimes be a mix of rolls and roleplay)

How Pedro Oliveira creates a safe table
I will be sending you a Lines and Veils document before session 0, for me to read and prepare / change anything from the campaign if necessary, and on session 0 I will explain in detail the themes of the campaign. By the end of every session, I will do the Star and Wishes system for feedback, so the next sessions will fit perfectly with everyone expectations.
