About the adventure
Siege on Ardur is a long-form, morally dark campaign using D&D 2014 5e rules, centered on conquest, ideological warfare, and the slow, deliberate breaking of a city and its faith. The city of Ardur stands as Selûne’s greatest bastion on the continent: a radiant stronghold of moonlit temples, holy orders, pilgrim roads, and divine protection. For generations it has been untouchable. Untouchable, until now. Beginning at level 10, the party serves as the elite strike unit of General Torrik Hallow, one of the True King’s most feared commanders. Ardur will fight back. Clerics, paladins, celestial allies, resistance cells, and divine miracles stand in your way. General Hallow’s armies grind against the walls, but it is your actions that determine when those walls finally collapse. The longer the siege drags on, the more faith falters, fear spreads, and the city begins to devour itself from the inside. By the campaign’s end, at level 15, you will not be judged by how many enemies you killed, but by how effectively you solved the General’s problems, what you destroyed to do so, and what you chose to leave standing. This is an evil campaign. Your characters are expected to be ruthless, pragmatic, ideological, or fanatically loyal. Mercy is a choice. Cruelty is a tool. Faith is the enemy. Features: • A long-form siege campaign focused on conquest, attrition, and psychological warfare • Party begins at level 10 and advances to around level 15 • Players act as an elite task force with broad autonomy and dark objectives • Moral collapse as gameplay, including terror tactics, hostage politics, and civilian leverage • High-stakes conflict against divine champions, holy orders, and celestial forces • Player-driven solutions that directly shape the fall of Ardur and the future of faith The gods are watching. They just can’t stop you.
