About the adventure
This game leans hard into suspense, mystery, and creeping dread. It starts quiet. You’ll investigate. Piece things together. Talk with your crew. But slowly, things start to feel wrong—glitches, voices, shadows where they shouldn’t be. And when it starts going downhill… it goes fast. Think: Flashlights cutting through smoke Emergency sirens kicking on at the worst time Unreadable logs with redacted sections Heavy doors closing behind you …and the sound of something crawling in the vents This is a story about survival, not heroism. You'll need to think on your feet and trust the people beside you—even if you’re not sure you should. The System (ALIEN RPG) The rules are simple and story-first. If you’ve never played the alien rpg, don’t worry—I’ll explain everything as we go. You’ll use a small handful of six-sided dice. The more skilled your character, the more dice you roll. You only need one 6 to succeed. But here’s the twist: As your character gets scared, you gain Stress dice—extra dice that help you succeed but might cause your character to panic. That’s when things get real: dropping your weapon, freezing up, screaming, or worse. You’ll play a character of your design: a scientist, technician, security officer, or A mercenary. All of whom are doing their best in an impossible situation. What Makes this Different? No long rulebooks. No endless combat. Just fast, tense, story-driven survival. Your character can panic, break down, or rise to the occasion—just like in a movie. The environment matters: flickering power, failing doors, and unexplained noises. You’ll feel the pressure. Every decision counts. Every hallway could be your last. If you like Dead Space, Alien, or The Thing, this is 100% your vibe. What You Need Nothing but your attention and maybe a flashlight for mood. We'll make the characters together and I'll guide you through everything. Expect a full evening of suspense, teamwork, mystery, and maybe some jump scares.

About me
Hello! My internet handel is Zantilis but my name is Branden. I'm 36 years old and have been playing dnd since I was a kid. My grandfather was my first gm and we played second edition with myself and my mom as players. Funnily enough in each game I dm or gm I usually have a small Easter egg of my mom and grandpa in the game, usually they're merchants of some kind. Speaking of dming; I have been a dm since 2006 and have run numerous games set in the same world. I usually have at least 3 players in a group or at max 6 people. My experience with tabletop games is varied. I have experience with: pathfinder 1st edition, dnd 2nd edition, 3rd edition, 4th edition, 5th edition, fallout 2d20, The alien rpg system, star wars 5e, and fantasy flights star wars rpg. If there's a system my players want to play that I don't have experience with, I will go out and learn the system for the players benefit because we're all here to enjoy a fun and exciting game.

Creating your character
This will happen during the session 0 setup. I will go over the creation rules and what can and can't be used for the game. The characters will be created on roll20 as that will be the platform I will be using to run the game. If you have the Alien Rpg books or the starter kit, give it a read through and that should give you a baseline for the game.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
I will be making a discord for the game so you will need a discord account. Roll20 will be the platform I will be using so a Roll20 account will also be necessary.
What Branden brings to the table
I'm no voice actor but i will voice each character the players will encounter. combat will use a grid system, and teamwork is highly encouraged. I do use the rule of cool because it makes the games so much more fun. Some rules are made to be broken.

Session 0: Establishing Comfort Before we dive in, we’ll spend 10–15 minutes on a quick virtual or in-person Session 0 to cover: Expectations & Tone – Confirm we’re all on board with sci-fi horror, and what “cinematic scares” mean here. Review Lines & Veils – I’ll read out any player-added lines/veils. Safety Tools Overview – Explain how the X-Card (or “Pause Card”) works: anyone taps it to pause and move past a moment. – Introduce Check-In Signals (we’ll use a quick “one-word” chat check at halfway). Group Norms – Encourage “open door” policy: if you need a break, say so—no questions asked. – Remind everyone that “No means No” for any in-game content. During game: Active Safety Tools One-Word Check-Ins – At the end of each major scene, I’ll ask you to drop a quick reaction word in chat or out loud (“Okay,” “Uncomfortable,” “Awesome”) so I know how you’re doing. Spot-Checks – If something’s heating up, I’ll pause and ask “Is everyone still good with this?” Aftercare & Debrief Once we wrap: Debrief Circle (5–10 min) – We’ll go around and share highlights, what we enjoyed, or any lingering concerns. Private Follow-Ups – If you flagged anything during play, I’ll message you afterward to make sure you’re alright.
