About the adventure

It is the year 1501 DR. Faerûn, especially the Sword Coast, is still recovering from a century of catastrophe. From the Cult of the Dragon, through the Crisis of the Absolute, to the fall of Elturel, the land has been battered again and again. Yet, in the wake of ruin, new heroes have risen. Among them stands Queen Sifiria, the newly crowned Queen of the Elves, who swore that such evils would never be allowed to threaten the Realms again. To that end, she purchased the lands between Waterdeep and Daggerford and founded a new elven city: Lythria, a place of opportunity, ambition, and second chances. A city where anyone who wishes to rise can do so. Lythria is home to a renowned Adventurers’ Guild, now known throughout Faerûn. From its halls, heroes are sent on journeys that span the Realms themselves, epic main quests, dangerous contracts, and fantastical discoveries waiting just beyond the horizon. Adventures in Faerûn is a full-scale, level 1–20 D&D campaign set in the Forgotten Realms. You’ll travel across Faerûn on grand storylines, but also live out your personal fantasy to the fullest. Become an Archmage, a noble of great renown, a legendary hero sung about in taverns, or simply a humble farmer who found their place in the world. The Realms are wide. The opportunities are endless. What will your story be? Find out by yourself as you make friends and enemies across the Realms! The first session of our game, aka session 0, is free, so you can see whether you like it or if it’s not entirely up your alley. We’ll start our adventure with it, in the first part, we’ll discuss expectations and safety measures, and in the second part and if everyone is up for it, we’ll assemble the party as you all meet in the guild.

About me

Hello! I’m Linu, a 26 year old DM whose life has been intertwined with Dungeons and Dragons since childhood. I’ve always loved fantasy and everything that comes with it. Fantasy stories shaped a big part of who I am, and I would love to share my passion for the genre with others. I’m a huge fan of long, written fantasy series like The Wandering Inn, classic movies like LOTR, and shows like Castlevania. I love everything that comes with DMing: map-making, crafting characters and plots, and even the silly voices I make to bring characters to life. But most of all, I love seeing what people do, and how their choices and stories affect the game and the world.

Character creation

Creating your character

We are using the 2024 rules. All basic D&D content is okay with me, and third-party content is allowed upon approval. If you have your own D&D Beyond account, you can simply send me a link to your character and I will port it over. If you don’t, that’s not an issue; message me and we’ll create your character directly in Foundry before the game.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

All you need is a PC or laptop to connect to Foundry VTT and a decent microphone so everyone at the table can hear you. ^__^

What Linu brings to the table

Maps of every location we’ll be visiting, including large regional maps and battle maps; D&D rulebooks available for player use, such as the Player’s Handbook and Tasha’s; character voices; information and art handouts; and music and ambience for every moment and place.

Homebrew rules

Falling damage is doubled, to make the effects of terrain based tactics more impactful, and when we roll the critical hits, we multiply both the damage dice but also the modifiers, for example 1d6 + 3 becoming 2d6 + 6.

Safety

How Linu creates a safe table

We will make sure that no elements related to players’ traumas, or things they simply cannot stand, are included in the game. During Session 0, we will go through our lines and veils. After each session, we will take a few minutes to discuss what you liked, what you did not like, and any questions or wishes you have regarding the game. If you feel uncomfortable with any element during play, feel free to send me a DM. We will also take 2–3 minute breaks every hour to make sure everyone can cool down, grab a drink, and continue the game comfortably.
