About the adventure
This campaign is set in and around Mirkwood, five years after the death of Smaug, the Chiefest and Greatest of Calamities. Dwarves rule under Erebor once more, and the Men of Dale have rebuilt their city with an eye toward peace and prosperity. Unfortunately, dark forces continue to dwell in the shadows of the Lonely Mountain and the forest formerly known as Greenwood the Great. Goblins and worgs still live in the Misty Mountains, and yet worse monstrosities wake in the pits and moors of the Wilderland, waiting for their moment to strike at the unsuspecting residents of the lands surrounding the Anduin. Finally, and most horrible, is the Shadow that dwells within the hearts of Men, eager to twist their passions to work in the service of the Dark Lord. Are you willing to stand up to the darkness, whether in search of justice, glory, or treasure, and to drive bring Light to the Darkness? Can you travel the forgotten paths of Wilderland, battle the servants of the Shadow, and resist the same the corruption of the soul that causes brother to rise up against brother and subject against lord? Let us hope so, as Mirkwood darkens and the lands of Men once again see a Shadow growing in the East.

Meet the Game Master
About me
I have been playing (mostly DMing) tabletop roleplaying games since roughly 1985 and have never found an activity that I enjoy more. Not just a D&D aficionado (though I have played every edition of that game), I have significant experience with at least 20 roleplaying systems, ranging from sci-fi to horror. A former teacher, I excel at describing settings, explaining rules, and making those at my table comfortable. I try to keep things appropriately serious, when the situation calls for it, but mostly I aim to make sure everyone's smiling and having a good time, so expect to laugh at my table. Though I prefer to play in person, I have run and played in several online games and know how to make sure the technology keeps up with the fun of the game. I can't wait to see some new faces at the table!
