About the adventure

You've awoken on a warm, sandy beach, temperate water lapping at your hair and back. Ahead, the sounds of the jungle greet you. Behind, a vast ocean breaking against a jagged coast. This isn't home. This isn't anywhere you've read or learned about. The sound of a roar, followed by the crash of a quick musket get you on your feet, but where do you go? This adventure will have you design a Planeswalker of MTG fame and will have you arrive on the plane of Ixalan shortly (within minutes) after your spark awakened. As your group travels and solves the mysteries buried in the dense jungles of Ixalan, you'll make allies, friends, and enemies. Eventually, you'll figure out how to planeswalk and escape Ixalan, bounding between the planes in search of allies and a way home. But be cautious, danger is always one step behind and two steps ahead.

About me

🌟 Professional Dungeon Master | Podcaster | YouTuber | Streamer | Fantasy Enthusiast 🌟 🛡️ Expert in cozy games and RPGs 🎲 Crafting immersive tabletop adventures 🎙️ Hosting engaging podcasts on all things RPGs 📺 Sharing tips, tricks, and gameplay on YouTube 🎮 Streaming magical journeys and cozy game sessions Join me on a quest through enchanting worlds and epic stories! 🏰✨ https://linktr.ee/thehatmaus?fbclid=PAZXh0bgNhZW0CMTEAAabCuO0jpme4zQYOKiwbLERfBfgbIJIfO8h2OZIdBLJycn9LsvH0X0525-Y_aem_2F_cVLg7SwoYTaw1P72_pA Meowdy, I usually run homebrewed scenarios in games that benefit from a deeper level of roleplay, though I'm no slouch when it comes to interesting and engaging combat, either. I have a passion for character development and incorporating my players' stories into my world, sometimes making permanent changes to the world depending on the heroes' actions. My tables strive to have an air of inclusivity. To help facilitate that, I have many guides and aides that will help promote a welcoming and safe place. No matter your story, background, or who you are now, you will be welcomed and respected. I started playing DnD with my Boy Scout troop 12+ years ago. Since then, I have played in or run many systems and am always looking for a reason to meet new players and try new ideas. I use discord for voice and will use either roll20 or Foundry for character sheet management / maps and handouts. Cameras are optional, however a headset or earbuds with a decent microphone would be recommended. If any of this sounds fun, I hope to see you around the table.

Creating your character

We will build characters together, as the plane you originate from will dictate your options.

Preparing for the session

What TheHatMaus brings to the table

Music, maps, tokens, a unique story, and the opportunity to bring your favorite card game to the screen.

Homebrew rules

I have a list we will go over and decide as a group which we'll play with, but one I will be implementing for this campaign is the Mana Point alternate rule from the DMG. I have a foundry module that will automatically calculate how many mp you have, but it will allow you to go all out on a few big spells, or properly manage your land (mana).

Safety

How TheHatMaus creates a safe table

We will discuss tone during session zero, as well as fill out the Monte Cook Consent sheet. Those responses will inform our starting Hardlines and Veils, which can and will expand as we progress into the ruined city. We will take 2 breaks during the game: a 15min biobreak halfway through the session and a 10 min stars and wishes game at the end before we depart for the week.
