About the adventure

Faerun needs your help! As a brave and bold band of adventurers, you will explore a magical world filled with familiar and surprising fantasy folk, such as elves, gnomes, and dwarves. You will enter perilous dungeons to find hidden treasures and powerful magic items deep within. You will encounter exciting monsters and hit them in the face! Players should expect to complete 1-2 "quests" per session, and it should take about 10-15 sessions to complete the adventure. Any character/class will be available, so feel free to build a PC using whichever sourcebook you like. The adventure will be designed for 2-6 players, and will start at Level 1 and end up at Level 5 or 6. I will always make 1 break (5-10 minutes) available each session. I'm a DM who is very into RP and I like to improvise when the players decide to do their own thing.

About me

Louis has been playing and DMing Dungeons and Dragons for 4 years. His style leans heavily towards roleplay, but he also likes to run tactical battles where the enemies are smart and coordinated to challenge his players and encourage them to push the limits of their abilities. Louis is a sketch comedy writer and voice actor, and he loves to build his worlds with engaging NPCs. He strives to create a unique voice and personality for everyone the party interacts with. Games are mostly run via AboveVTT and Discord for voice and text. Tl;dr: This DM prioritizes the following in descending order: 1) Roleplay 2) Combat 3) Exploration 4) Political Intrigue

Character creation

Creating your character

Please create a Level 1 character using DNDBeyond or whatever method you prefer. I will be happy to help with character creation for any new players who need it. There is always a very real chance of character death, so please be prepared to roll up a new character if need be.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

-Please set up DNDBeyond so that you can use AboveVTT in your browser. For many users, Chrome is the best way to access it (although it may run on Firefox). -Microphone is required. -Webcam is optional (I like to have video on to make it easier to interact with players over Discord, but it's not a requirement)

What Louis G. brings to the table

Depending on the experience level of all players, I will be happy to do an interactive tutorial of AboveVTT for anyone who needs it.

Safety

How Louis G. creates a safe table

I love running Combat, but as a DM I don't like to force it and if the party wants to use other methods (clever tactics, diplomacy, bribery, stealth, etc...) to avoid it, I'm very adaptable. Exploration with multiple side quests available. Plenty of opportunities for Roleplay. There will be some Dungeon Crawling and Puzzle Solving as well. You can expect to encounter at least 1 or 2 dragons in this adventure. I know the name implies that, but I just want to say dragons are one of my favorite things about D&D and you can rest assured they will play a significant role in this module.
