About the adventure
Welcome to the streets of Boston. A city with great pride in her history, but has never been afraid to change. Here was born the American Revolution. Here was the hotbed for the abolition movement and women's suffrage. Here there is history. Here there is pride. Here there is power. Boston is a place where glass and steel skyscrapers stand over cobblestone streets. Where history and the future collide; and the result is always violent. Here, one stands with one foot in the proud past, and another in an uncertain future. In Bloody Streets of Boston, join in a coterie as they fight to make their name in Beantown. You are anarchs with dreams of your own territory - maybe even one day, your own barony. But you have a long way to go if you want to climb your way to the top. Old history and even older grudges that must be navigated in this modern-day Carthage. This game is intended for players both new to VtM V5 and those with some level of understanding with the mechanics and lore involved. It will be a game of twists, turns, violence and ambition. Players will be invited to set their own goals and dreams in this night, as well as contend with the nature of their undead life.

About me
A humble player of rpgs who has been behind and in front of the screen consistently for over a decade, I am a lover of all editions of D&D, Pathfinder, Shadowrun and WoD. Experience in running 3.5, 4th and 5th edition D&D, Shadowrun, various WoD and CoD campaigns and games both independent and obscure. My games run from simple, heartfelt adventures to deep social dramas and good old-fashioned dungeon diving!

Creating your character
The players will be gathered for a Session Zero, where we will discuss Lines and Veils, Safety Tools, and also create our characters. For the purposes of character creation, we will also establish Touchstones, the basics of their Sires, and what relations the characters have with one another. Characters will be of the 12th Generation and will be treated as Neonates: Kindred who are just starting to be independent in vampire society.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Players are expected to have a Discord account, as this will be the primary website we shall use for play. Players are also expected to have microphones in order to play. Webcams are optional, but the Storyteller will be on camera over the course of the game.
What Chris brings to the table
In terms of materials, I will provide a link to the Discord community for this game. Within the community, there will be a tab for Resources which will include a PDF of the Vampire the Masquerade v5 core rulebook, a link to the VtM Wiki, and also a link to Realm of Darkness, as the site will be used for our dice bot and character sheets. As this will be a narrative, exploratory style game, I will offer the players the freedom to choose how they wish to interact with the story - where they go, what they do, and who they interact with. When playing in a city such as Boston, it is my goal to bring the city to life through description. I hope to give the players the sense of a walking tour through their minds, to let them feel as though we are in a place full of history and culture rather than a generic setting. Combat, when present, will be situations which will often be viewed as puzzles - how do you dispatch a gang of ghouls without alerting authorities? What will you do when a security guard comes to investigate the noise at the harbor? What happens now that you've learned the rumors of a wight in this abandoned building are proven true...? I award invention and innovation in my games, and look forward to seeing what players come up with. I am a firm believer in the Rule of Cool and letting players take chances, make mistakes, and get messy! So long as an option is within reason, the players will be given the choice to let the dice decide how wonderful their plan either works, or falls apart...
Homebrew rules
The only major homebrew rule I have is that of Achievements. When players perform an action that delights both myself and the party, they are awarded an Achievement at the end of the session. Achievements can come from performing a particularly gruesome kill, succeeding at a Herculean task, or just saying or doing something that makes me smile. This Achievement comes with a bonus of an extra Experience Point. Due to the powerful reward behind Achievements, players can only earn one Achievement per session.

How Chris creates a safe table
Players will be provided a link to a Lines and Veils pdf, which is to be filled out and submitted prior to Session Zero. During Session Zero, the players and I will go over their established Lines and Veils, as well as discuss other subjects which may be taboo which weren't present on the sheet or were thought of later. During our sessions, we will take a break halfway through so that I may touch base with the players and make sure they are still comfortable and having fun. Whenever there is a heavy scene or someone asks for a scene to stop, we will also employ these breaks to make sure everyone is okay. Each session will also end with a brief discussion on what the players liked, how they feel the game is going, and any concerns they would like to address. My DMs will also be open for players to discuss their concerns in confidence. Over the course of play, players will be asked to submit their X, N and O's to me through DM to maintain their confidentiality.
